Description
Pretty unrealistic, but I'll still go through the trades one by one.

1. On the chance that Anaheim continues their downward trend and decides to retool. They're currently 8-9-4 with the 2nd worst goal differential in the league. I understand injuries have played a role here, but if their situation worsens then it's not out of the realm of possibility that they do something drastic. They receive a 20 year old winger (Puljujarvi) with a boat load of potential, and surprisingly good stats when he actual plays in the top 6 (look it up). A young, good, and cheap 3rd liner who's already scored 6 goals in his 14 games he's played (Caggiula). As well as a 2019 1st rounder that's lottery protected. In return Edmonton receives Montour.

2. Edmonton then flips Montour to Toronto along with a pretty decent prospect (Safin), and a 2nd round pick. They get back Nylander's rights. Enough said

3. Edmonton ships off RNH to Winnipeg for Vesalainen and a 2nd to free up cap space for Nylander. I think this trade really helps both teams. The Jets are contending right now, but Brian Little isn't getting it done as 2C. He doesn't mesh well with Laine and Ehlers, and its hurting the team Little has 6 points in 17 games, and Ehlers and Laine aren't producing like they should be. RNH can absolutely drive a line, he had 48 points in 62 games last season, most of it was when he had his own line (he only played like 10 games on McDavis's wing). And he's been a point per game player this season with McDavid. Vesalainen will have more opportunity in Edmonton. I assume Winnipeg would have to free up some cap space for this, but the way Myers has played, and with it being likely they don't re-sign him, I think he might get moved.

4. Acquire Virtanen for Matt Benning, a 2nd, and Maksimov. Don't know about this one, just thought Virtanen's speed would compliment McDavid's. How is Virtanen in the corners? Is he a defensive liability?

5. No secret that Kassian and his agent aren't happy with his ice time. Any team that wants to take a chance on him can have him, he's actually a pretty good 4th liner, when he isn't in the penalty box...

id be hesitant to acquire a defensman like montour then immediately trade him away, but your value isnt too far off, i dont like the nuge tradde because i love him and im ok with the virtanen gamble. good team i like it

The linchpin of your succession of trades is Montour for Puljujarvi. I don't think that this works for the Ducks. (1) Anaheim already has Kase, Sherwood and hopefully Silfverberg on RW, with the right-handed Rakell and Aberg playing at LW, plus Terry in San Diego and the millstones Perry and Eaves on IR, so I don't think that we need Puljujarvi. (Too bad he can't play LW.) Also, Anaheim has Manson and Montour at RD and then prospects or low-rent FA's picked up in the offseason, whereas the Ducks have Fowler and Lindholm plus NHL-ready Larsson and Pettersson on the left side, so trading Montour doesn't appeal. In short, I don't see this trade being good for Anaheim.

So this is exactly what I was going to say about the ducks, great breakdown.

The leafs decline safin will never be an nhlr I’m sorry. So now it is montour and a second for nylander. Montour not even being a defensive minded rhd the keafs easily pass this up.

It's also hard to imagine who Montour would pair with. He's stronger defensively than your comment implies (he partners Lindholm here) but you're right, his value is primarily offensive, so he wouldn't be great opposite Dermott or Gardiner, which leaves Rielly and Marincin. So you'd have Rielly-Montour and Gardiner-Zaitsev and Hainsey/Marincin-Ozhiganov.

Would probably end up gardiner hainsey then dermott zaitsev maybe in the bottom pair???? Hard to say he just really isn’t the guy we would target. Manson would make things much easier. His defense is a bit more solid. Montour would be such a better fit in Edmonton. Not sure why they don’t keep him.
