I'd just be worried about giving up a cost controlled Kempny when you have some expiring contracts in the next few years for the franchise cornerstones.

No need for the conditional on Sanford, he’s RFA

Both are RFAs. I would just do a 2nd and 3rd

I really don't think Ovi or Nicky are gonna try and gouge DC. Holtby might, but there is a chance he gets moved out before he gets the chance.

What would need to be added to make you more excited?

The value is fine, but I just think Edmundson is really good and a staple of our blue line.

I'd really like him to be a staple of DC's blue line. wink

I agree. The Blues would never get enough value for Edmundson because the way he is perceived around the league is very average. I was thinking about what a fair counter would be, but it will just sound stupid to ask for too much. He's not an amazing player, but he's irreplaceable on our defense full of softer guys.

Well...give it a try. I don't demonize people for their opinions like other ppl on here. smile. I really like what I see from Edmundson.

I think this is a bit of an overpayment. It would have looked logical when Sanford had 7 points in 8 games, but now that he has 7 points in 14 games this year, and 15 points in 52 games, career, he is not worth even a slow-starting Burakovsky, who is slightly younger, with 124 points. Sanford has 51 career NHL shots on goal, as a 24 year old. Burakovsky has 51 NHL goals and 407 shots in 271 games played, at 23.

Edmundson hits a bit and is reportedly not available, according to every St. Louis fan on here.

Burakovsky and Kempny should be way more than enough to get a younger, more highly scouted LHD who is rumored available, like Zadorov. The resulting roster spot and cap space lets Washington bring up Gersich, who should be about as good as Sanford, without losing a 2nd or a 3rd. They might even get some kind of a pick back in that one?
