Description
I know the question about who gets put on waivers remains, but I honestly have to say that Gauthier's relentless play and effort make it much harder for me to waive him over Holl, who has only played 1 or 2 games.

Ozhiganov has looked great for his role, and Marincin adds the 7th man perfectly. And to be honest, I would rather see Borgman or Rosen get called up than see Holl steal a roster spot from Gauthier or even Ennis. All of the bottom 6 forwards have looked great, and none of them deserve to be sent down right now.

The lines are the way they really should be when he returns, as Kappy and Matthews is a great pairing, and the Hyman-Tavares-Marner line is crazy. The idea of having the third line be Marleau-Kadri-Brown is so perfect!

The 4th line would see some ins and outs, as Johnsson and Leivo would both get sat out for Gauthier and Ennis at some point, and we would see injuries. The fact that we have 5 capable 4th liners after signing Willie is pretty awesome.

Waivers, as he has not been good so far. he is eligible to go directly to the Marlies, who need his help, and quite frankly I think he will bounce back.

Like the lineup, by why couldn't that Nylander contract be signed in August?

I kinda just filled the number in, at this point he's likely to get a 5 million for 3 years probably? Not really sure what to guess at this point. We could even see a one year or two year deal at low cost tbh, which I would be fine with. I would prefer a short term deal, wait for Marleau to retire, and then Pay him.

Yea, I don't know why he's going sign for either. I find it kinda amazing that the the Leafs and Nylander haven't been able to go to at least one $$$ amount for one particular term. 1500 other NHL/AHLers have contracts signed, but it's only guy that can't come to an agreement. You're right, if you they can't agree to a long term agreement in July, couldn't they agree to a short term in past four months?

I've toyed with the idea of having Leivo play the left side with Matthews, he's great along the boards and is fast enough to keep up with Matthews and Nylander. That way you can also have Kadri with Marleau and Kapanen which has looked really good and you also keep the current 3rd line together as a 4th line. All in all, its just hilariously deep.
    WhyD liked this.

I see your point, but holy shite has Kappy been good! Outplayed all the LWs imo, and deserves to keep his minutes.
