Drouin, Domi, Gally, Tatar, Byron are probably locks to get protected if they go 7-3-1. That leaves 2 out of 4 in Shaw, Danault, Scherbak, Lehkonen. Dont think anyone would want Shaw so it depends if Habs would protect the 2 younger guys over Danault

of the last 4 you mentioned. Danault and Lehkonen get protected and Shaw they roll the dice. Scherbak won't be with the team by the expansion draft imo. 99% of Habs fans probably agree with this. Possible forwards left out that could get picked: Armia, Hudon.

EDIT: odds are that MTL lose a Dman. Weber and Petry will be protected with his NMC. That'll leave one of Mete or Juulsen left out. I'd put money that MTL protects Juulsen, or try and move Petry at that point to protect Mete.

We are also assuming that no side deals are being made. Just for names sake in an example they could leave Byron unprotected so that Seattle doesnt take a Dman. It would be shocking for them to leave Danault unprotected but there were a lot of head scratchers from teams last expansion so you never know, logic never lines up with fans it seems

29 Year old Middle 6 winger or our current best Center who is only 25. Seems like a no brainer to me
