Description
Year after you have 5 roster spots to fill with over 16 mil on the cap, even if it doesn't rise. After that it's smooth sailing as you open up another 11 only with Smith and Shattenkirk, to sign Lias, Chytil and Howden etc.

I think NYR is a good spot for Panarin, and he can drive his own top line with a little help from Hayes while Bjork or any equivalent player really rides shotgun.

High AAV on Buch, but hoping to buy low on a long deal. If Chytil and Lias develops well you might not need to re-sign Hayes and they could trade him instead. These trades don't have to be exact, they're all more conceptual.

That's a tough one. He's 26 before next season starts, this is basically his prime. There's not many more upticks in production to expect. I wouldn't mind trading Pionk either, cause I think neither of those guys will keep it up over time or pay off on long term deals.

You both make good points. How about trading him to Buffalo for Tage Thompson?

I think that's a good move for the Rangers. I feel like the Sabres have Skinner and Reinhart as their staple wingers, with Okposo inevitably there. Then there's Sheary, Pominville, Berglund, Sobotka etc and I'm sure I'm forgetting someone. There's plenty of wingers trying to get into that top 9, and both Nylander and Olofsson want a shot at some point. I think Tage's curve fits the one of the rangers a bit better, so it might make sense for both parts, but considering everything I wrote I'm curious how likely Vesey is to actually stick in Buffalo's top 9.
