Its 5th round pick if Jerabek plays 50 games for STL this year which is unlikely since he has 1 game so far

On paper this looks like a good deal for Chiarelli and the Oilers, but Wideman in EDM won't make a bit of difference for their playoff chances. He's another bottom pair D and the Oilers already have plenty of those. I'll continue to wait for the deal to save the season, and Chiarelli's job, that should be forthcoming.

he should have went to the Penguins. At least there he would have a chance to win a cup. He would have got good playing time too.

The penguins are last place in the east because of their blue line. They got 1 RHD on the whole roaster.

Roaster? I think you mean roster. Yeah, Wideman is just an more offensive Ruhwedel.

come on. Widerman is at least a legit 6-7th d man. Ruhwedel belongs in the AHL

Wideman is good, Blues made the same type of deal for Jerabek with Edmonton so that might be the condition on the pick is either Edmonton did the same thing with their pick or traded the Blues pick instead.

It's all in the way u look at it. Wiseman, if he fits with Hitchcock plans and schemes and helps out Eds defence, then Edmonton wins fòr the defenceman. However, this opens up ice time for Ottawa defence, right.

That's a pitiful return on Chris Wideman.

Edmonton wins.
