Maybe add Zadorov as well. The Blues having 2 shots at Hughes this year would be a big deal. Plus Makar would allow them to trade Parayko or Pietrangelo.

Gross overpayment. He's an unreal player but is he better than Rants right now? Nope. Not trading 2 of the Avs biggest building blocks

People way overvalue prospects and picks. They are unknowns that could bust just as easily as become very good players. That’s why it takes 2 or 3 of them to aquire an established player. Tank is a known. 40 goal scorer in his prime. I’ll take the 40 goal scorer. Going to take more than a 1st and a prospect to do it tho.

I wouldn't, it starts the Avs need to win now clock. He would be on the 2nd line. Love the player but Makar is a special special talent and you don't give him up, hes untouchable. And that Sens pick can go either way but the fact that Makar is it in it, instant no go. There are maybe only a half full of guys you consider moving him for.

They wouldnt even consider moving I'm in their Karlsson talks with the Sens...they aren't going to move him and the Sens pick for Tarasenko.

Yes he is a 40 goal weapon but that's when hes getting top line minutes and top PP minutes....where is he getting that on the Avs. You arent going to be a. 40 goal scorer on the 2nd PP unit and playing 2nd line minutes.

Blues don’t have their pick. It’s at buffalo because of the orielly trade.

And he could just as easily be the the next Yakupov, Hamill, Bennett, Strome etc.

Not saying Col should make the trade. Just saying it’s not an overpayment. It’s what it would take.

Makar is an overpayment as soon as his name is added, thats the point here. If you are starting to compare him to any of those guys then you haven't been paying attention to his career after he has been drafted.

Bennett averaged over 2 points a game after being drafted, what good did it do him? Players with all the promise in the world have busted, it happens. You can’t say with complete uncertainty what he becomes. Every draft has 1st rounders that fail. And every fan base said how great they were going to be.

Tank is one of the best players in the game. Makar could be too, or he he could be good, average, or bust. You don’t know. Not really, you think you do, but **** happens. We know what Tank is. We know what he is worth. Makar is an unopened briefcase that could be filled with $100s, $10s, or $1s, or empty. And if you don’t understand that than you are close minded and lost.

Tank is currently more valuable than Makar and 1st. Period. So it is not an overpay.

Avs may not be willing to do it, and under their current situation that makes sense for them, but that does not make it an overpay it just means it does not fit Avs plans.

My comment was never about the Avs themselves. It was about Tanks value. Don’t care if Avs want him or not. If Blues move him he’s worth more than a 1st and a prospect. Lesser players get moved for more.

Duncan Siemens was supposed to be the next Shea Weber and got very similar comparisons. How did that turn out? His point was just because he is supposed to be a huge impact player doesn't mean he will be. Of you can be in a win now, plus several years, what's wrong with that? They still have Barrie and Johnson on the right side for right now.

agree to disagree bc you arent seeing why its a bad trade for the Avs to give up Makar and why its an overpayment as soon as his name is attached in any trade proposal. Its simple as that so I won't bother trying to explain it any further

And his value does not get you Makar, I don't see why you can't put those 2 together. Makar is an overpayment for him, simple as that.
He is considered one of the top prospects not in the NHL right now, easily Top 5. Tanks is a hell of a player but he is not getting that level of a prospect back.

Tank is 2nd in the league in goals scored over the last 5 years. 26, signed for 5 years. He’s worth more than any prospect. Period.

Would you have traded McAvoy++ for him?
Sorry its an overpayment to trade one of the Top prospects in the NHL, plus a very desirable and high draft pick for a scoring winger who wouldnt be on a. teams 1st line or first PP unit.

Its an overpayment for the Avs, plain and simple

I’d trade Cmac+ for him now. And unlike Makar we have seen him in the NHL. B’s don’t have the cap room to though.

Again, the Avs, the Avs, the Avs...don’t care. Switch teams. Nucks -Hughes and 1st. Vegas- Glass and 1st. Whatever team. Tank is worth more than any prospect. Lesser players get traded for a prospect a 1st and a 3rd.

A couple of year ago you would not have traded Pujuljarvi and a 1st for him by your standards. How would that have worked out?

I am not talking about team needs, team fit, etc. purely player value
