LMAO at your Trouba trade. Guy will be a UFA in 1 year this summer and you wanna give away a good chunk of Wings roster for him. Wings will go after him in free agency without giving up valuable assets and if he chooses to go elsewhere so be it. He is good not great.

    A) if he does walk. I’m all for it. And think he will end up here. Doesn’t meant it will happen. And I believe Winnipeg would do anything to avoid that happening. So I’ve provided a fair trade to show what it would take
    B) I find it hilarious that you say “a good chunk of the roster” because it’s one roster player and one guy who hasn’t even cracked that title yet.
    C) Trouba is exactly what Detroit needs and doesn’t have. Nor does it have in the system.

Don't think Stevie Y would give up that much for 1 year for a team that isn't a serious SCF contender. Karlsson and Trouba makes them better, but the growth still needs to be there, especially if you are taking away a potential dynamic piece in AA (or Mantha). I'm positive he would just let the assets mature even more, and grab him as a FA if Trouba wanted to come home. With Frk as your second liner, Nielsen as your second line C, you've made the team 1 line team.

Now, if you don't give up the assets for Trouba, and trade Daley (who's NTC ends mid February 2019), and put Hronek into that spot, you could have lines that look like this:

    Mantha/Larkin/Zadina
Veleno/Nielsen/AA (Veleno will start as a winger)
    Bert/Ras/Helm
    Abs/De la Rose/Glendening

Not world beaters, but not a 1 line forward group either. Plus you'll have a draft pick coming in, and some hopeful development in Pope, Berggen, Ehn when Glendening and Frk starts to fall off.
