Nuge is more valuable than Toffoli (significantly)

Nurse is more valuable than Martinez (largely due to age)

Budaj is a negative value, plus we have Montoya who is the same player.

A third round pick doesn't cover the gap, not even close.

oilers would never do that, nuge has more value and is alot better a D, nurse may not be better than Martinez, but has more value, Budaj would be the thirdish goalie on the team so him or montoya idk whos better

you also got to be kidding on the ottawa trade, goalies both should be in the AHL at best, but id give condon the slight edge. so Forbert for Dizingel 1 for 1 would never go through from the sens side of things.

all in all, your value is leaned heavily towards LA favour

Edmonton loses that trade by a large margin.

New Jersey loses that trade, they get a Hagelin rental and Lewis for one more season, both of which are downgrades from Johansson, then have to take on 2+ years of Phaneuf's awful contract?

Carolina isn't going to give up a quality young defenseman for a 32 year old oft-injured goaltender. If Quick was healthy and playing well maybe. Kings would have to take back Scott Darling.

Kings lose the Ottawa trade. The Kings get back a rental forward that they could sign as a free agent in July and a goaltender that cleared waivers less than a month ago in return for a solid 3rd pairing defenseman with term and a quality backup goaltender? Why do they want/need a rental if they're going to tank this year? Why give up players with trade value for nothing?

The Islanders trade is fine in terms of value I guess, but I would try to get a prospect instead of a goaltender, especially since you've apparently determined that Cal Petersen is ready to be the new franchise goaltender after a half-dozen games. There are other goaltenders that can fill the backup role without having to waste Carter's trade value on one.

RNH has to go. He's getting killed in Edmonton. TT and AM for RNH would be a better deal or even TT, Muzzin, Brickley and 2nd for RNH and Nurse.

That is the dumbest thing I am going to hear today and my day is just beginning. I dont think you have ever watched hockey before and if you have its after ingesting illicit substances no doubt. At no point in what you just said did anything resemble a logical thought, everyone in this thread is now dumber for having read it, I award you no points, and may god have mercy on your soul.

Well, it's obvious you can't think for yourself. You're thoughtful analysis of the issue is stunning and brilliant. Hurry, somebody in the NHL snatch this generational genius up before his talent for banality, lack of substance and trolling is wasted on Cap Friendly. Dear God, help us.

I gave you my “analysis” but let me go into it again.

Nuge is a Center, with 3 years left on his contact, a career .69 pt/gp ratio and is continuing to get better.

Toffoli is a winger, 2 years left on his contract, a career .58pt/gp ratio and is as good as he’s going to be, has been for a couple years.

Nuge is clearly the more valuable of the two.

Martinez is 31, on a decline, and making 4 million dollars.

Nurse is 23, already probably better than Martinez, and a lower cap hit.

We have no need for Budaj, he would be the 4th best goalie in the Oiler organization.

To answer to the ridiculous follow up comment you made, RNH does not need to go, he is not getting killed in Edmonton, he is still getting better, he is our 3rd best and probably 2nd most important player, and one of the few players we have that is out playing his contract. I don’t know where you’re getting the idea that he needs to go.

He needs to go for his own good. Edmonton is a place where players go to die. He's a good player and a change (mutual) would do him well. Even McJesus can't save the Oilers.
