from an oiler fan perspective, i'd be okay with the LA trade because we're getting rid of lucic

the one problem is that philly would say NO. i'd say add a d-man prospect, but philly has lots of those. would have to add some kind of daily nhl player that is valuable to PHI

Philly is managed now by some one on the same stupidity level of GMPC.

all the deals are solid, you may even be able to keep Lagesson and Benson

I like the NY trade. But with how horrendous Talbots stats are right now, I don't think he has that much value left. He's below .900 right now. Lehner is playing better than he is, so don't think the islanders would do it. Philly doesn't even consider that trade. They aren't giving up a 50+ point dman on a great contract for a 1st rounder, Benson and some garbage we don't want anyways (Benning). Maybe L.A says yes if we retain 1 million on Lucic. Maybe...

Kovalchuk may be seriously underperforming his contract with just eight even strenght points in 24 games (tied with Chiasson and Caggiula), but Lucic has two.

Kovalchuk's 2.04 p.60 aren't what LA expected, but Lucic has 0.86. Yamamoto is at -.69.

If LA is rebuilding, they might take Lucic back in a Kovalchuk trade, but in that case Edmonton has to offer some really decent picks/prospects.

Thats the entire point of having Yamamoto in the deal. He is a 19 year old prospect with about 20 games played in his career, he is the incentive to take on Lucic

No thanks from NYI. Just don't really need a goaltender, we need defense. If we were aiming for a goalie, I think we can do better than Talbot.

Oh. Okay. So what's their incentive to trade Wagner, who is 21, and tied with Yamamoto at one point this year?

Im from Regina and watched him with the Pats. He wont be anything special as an NHL player so I put him in the deal for fun because I like him as a person, didnt think anything of it. You need to stop using points as a be all end all. Alex Chaisson has more points than Kempe would you trade Kempe for Chaisson?

They might. Interesting idea. But I think it's more likely they rebuild

Under no circumstances does LA take on Lucic contract, not even if EDM took Dion Phaneuf
