Maybe, but would the Islanders offer? Trading one of their best defensemen with decent upside on a team with minimal depth on the blueline would be ill-advised, which hurts, because the Islanders could use Nylander tbh

I think they would have to consider it. Willy is an elite play maker that could either play RW or 2C. With the other moves mentioned here, I think its very compelling...

Dallas doesn't give up a 1st Rounder for Eberle. Buffalo didn't give away a 1st Rounder to get Skinner.

No they didnt, they gave up a top prospect and 2nd, 3rd and 6th round picks. With the salary retention, this is more than fair deal - look at the Tatar and Kane deals.

I like all of these trades here a lot. Losing Pulock stings, but Dobson and Wilde both look like they’ll be great. Worth the risk.

abso****inglutely not. Pulock is untouchable, and Bellows probably is pretty close to that as well. you don't throw away top all situation D. Isles have some good D prospects in the minors and some are close to being NHL ready, but not one of them is remotely close to Pulocks all around game. there is no telling if Noah Dobson is going to be Ryan Sutter or Griffin Reinhart. D are hard to project, and even the top picks are never a lock to be NHL caliber. Bellows could be ready as soon as next year. he has a solid two way game already and and great shot and decent net presence. with the Isles not having a 3rd or 4th round pick next season, trading away the 1st round pick, leaving them with only one pick in the first four rounds is a no no. Isles need to look for a center in UFA, and trade for a stopgap winger to hold the fort until Bellows or Wahlstrom emerge as NHL ready

I'm going to go ahead and agree with TrickyDick55 here. We have a lot of young depth in our organization. I'm not really going ahead with any trades unless it's for a top-end talent of some kind. With these trades there is a lot of mis-valuing going on. I personally don't think Nylander is all that spectacular. He was good in a short sample size but what happens when he's not playing with the likes of Auston Matthews, and now John Tavares. That being said, I do think there are moves to be made but for now let's look at maybe only moving draft picks or players that management knows they will not be re-signing.
