I hate to break this to you, but Jake Allen is not a marketable asset. He is a liability right now, and that contract is not appealing for anyone hoping a change of scenery will help him.

????? Blues are going to miss the playoffs, why would they give up futures for Howard? No team wants Allen. Leafs are trading a solid winger for a bottom end or worse Dman.

Yeah but I think Jimmy Howard will net the biggest return at the trade deadline. Several playoff bound teams need goaltending depth. Jimmy has had a couple of his best seasons in the last couple of seasons. That and he is a rental if it doesn’t work out your not stuck. I do really like Howard but we are rebuilding and 3-4 seasons before being a real contender and that puts him at 37 to 38 yrs old. So if he can go to a team that has a chance I know I’d be rooting for him to win a Cup.
