Description

Now hear me out here... Thompson and Hagelin are gone anyway at the trade deadline, let's get something back. Lewis and Forbort would be solid character/depth guys to add to a contender (although admittedly getting a 1 is unlikely). The big move would be trading Quick to a bubble team/contender, saving cap space and clearing up playing time for Peterson and Campbell...

Essentially 2 x 1st for a 32 year old in Quick? Hopefully Dubas has taught Lou a thing or two...Though trades for starters are so rare that I have no idea how you'd attach a value to it.

I'd give up Ho-Sang and a couple of 2nd's? That's probably not enough though.

How about Dobson and 2nd? Quick's contract is actually decent compared to other starters of his quality. Assuming he stays healthy for the length of the contract, and is fired up because of the trade, you could have a bargain if he gets hot and delivers some deep conference runs. That is a big "if" but it's always a calculated risk. Other HOF goalies are playing into their late 30s...
