If I’m Carolina, I would be looking real hard at what Toronto just went through to get Nylander signed. The Leafs spent big on free agents each of the last two summers and it nearly cost them one of their core young pieces (it still might - a Nylander trade this summer is very possible). I would be really careful about going after a guy like Duchene when they have Svechnikov, Necas, Foegele, Hamilton, Faulk, etc. coming up in the next couple years. They have a young group that could be good enough to win on it’s own. Get those guys locked down, and then add help.

Value wise, i'd definitely do that as a sens fan, but we just got rid of a RHD in Wideman because of Jaros' play so i doubt we'd go pickup another one.
