Description

w/ Florida trade
The way the Marleau and Nylander contacts are designed they are optimal to send to a cap floor team that can take cap space while paying less money.
Instead of Zaitsev it may be Gardiner who goes as he can get the money he wants with an upfront signing bonus the leafs pay prior to shipping him to Florida.

Any other picks needed to make the deal work i didn't include in this scenario... just looking at cap ramifications.

Remove Marleau and Zaitsev and add Rasmus and Tallon might take that

They would have to take Marleau ... he would only be making $1.25 that year ... the trade would have to be made after the signing bonus is paid out.

I'm sure Florida would have a team cap and if Toronto can cover some bonus money before moving guys it could be very enticing ... i'm beginning to think Gardiner is more likely in this scenario.
