Big overpayment. Does not fix the offense, and lmits what you can do to fix it.

I'm slightly more critical on Skjei than most, but it's more so that they're asking a 2nd pairing guy to be a #1 d man.

That being said, I think the Rangers would take this in a heartbeat.

Yeah, but we do need someone who is agressive like that. Chara can’t throw his body around anymore. We need someone to stick up for the team.

I understand that concept, and to an extent I agree, but the only thing that is inescapable is that Grizz can't sit the way he's currently playing.

Massive overpayment. Jesus people underrate Krug so much. Rags would have to give Skjei+ for Krug alone. Not the other way around.

What? Skjei is younger, locked up long term, and better than Krug. Why would the Rags give up Skjei+? If the Rags offered Skjei for Krug the Bruins take it 11/10 times.

What do you want?

Points? Krug wins.
Corsi? Krug wins.
+/-? Krug wins.
Corsi adjusted +/-? Krug wins.
Fenwick? Krug wins.
Relative Fenwick? Krug wins.
PDO? Krug wins.

What exactly does Skjei beat Krug in? I legitimately have not seen a single meaningful stat anywhere. Bruins fans criminally underrate Krug so much and it's just a shame. He is one of the premier power-play quarterbacks in the league, and without him earlier this season our PP looked dead.

Yes look beyond Krugs stat line to the transcendence of this random capfriendly poster who knows more than any statistic can tell you.

If you rely on statistics to evaluate d men, hockey is not the sport for you

Thank you for choosing one random statistic out of the 7 to nitpick, love the straw-man argument. That is why I included corsi adjusted +/-. It's not an entirely helpful statistic on it's own but adjusted per team and over the long term it is correlated with being a better player.

Please though I insist, find any statistic that Skjei beats Krug at. I was legitimately having trouble finding even a single one that means anything.

I see you subscribe to the Chiarelli method of player evaluations. Continue to trade your Halls for Larssons for all I care.

Chiarelli has a cup. I see you subscribe to the Dallas method of “who cares about defense.” Good luck with that. Your nhl 19 teams are sick I bet

Contract, age, play style, term. Those are all things looked at in a trade. And Skjei wins on every single one.
