Parayko Trade to Leafs

Created by: Faceoff84
Team: 2018-19 St. Louis Blues
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 3, 2018
Published: Dec. 3, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Grundstrom has played quite well for the Marlies, and I would really enjoy having a player like him in our prospect system. I think the Leafs will overpay to get Parayko, and thus I would be happy with making this trade if I was Armstrong. This will also lead into other trades down the line towards the deadline. (Also, the Blues will NOT be getting Nylander... no way)
Trades
STL
  1. Brown, Connor
  2. Gardiner, Jake
  3. Grundström, Carl
  4. 2019 2nd round pick (TOR)
Additional Details:
Pick would turn into a 1st if the Leafs make the ECF.

A first is a prerequisite in a Parayko trade. Honestly it would need to have a first in Liljegren

So Parayko and Maroon for

half a season of Gardiner, Grundstrom, Brown and a 2nd...? No thanks and if Gardiner is signing an extension beforehand then it is fair.

Grundstrom has the potential to be a top 6 power forward and I believe Gardner would sign an extension with the Blues and could actually be a productive player as he escapes the bright lights of Toronto. Quite fair imo.

Agreed.. if Gardiner signs an extension. If not its pointless for STL to do this.

I think it is fair for both sides, but be aware Gardiner would have to agree with an extension. Keep in mind that if Grundstrom projects like I believe he will, the Leafs will be trading a top 6 forward... (they can spare the offense though) I think the Leafs would even just give up their 1st in 2019 altogether, but that is up for debate.

I respectfully disagree, unless you believe the the Blues are still going to make the playoffs this year. Still not sure, but this trade may make even more sense to me as the trade deadline approaches in November.

Also, I believe Gardiner would sign w/ the Blues if the trade transpired.

Blues are not making the playoffs.. and they have 0 need for Brown or a late round 2nd. Blues have plenty of forward depth and the whole at 2nd line RHD would be too big to receive
Brown - bottom 6 rw
Grundstrom - potential top 6
pick #55-61 in draft
