Could also do this deal with Bozak instead of Perron. But Perron and Neal were lights out last year, could be the perfect thing to get Neal going.

It's not out of this world off, I don't think you see Calgary moving a 1st round pick unless the return is significant and a sure thing, I think the worst thing that GMBT could do for hos job at this point is move a pick for a guy exactly like Allen who could be great, but could blow up in his face if it is the latter I think that Treliving signed his own termination papers. I don't mind using a goalie as a trade chip but I think AHL goalies have such low value when they are young, they are complete lottery tickets and I don't know how many GM's would look at Gilles as a viable option to anchor a rebuild just because he hasn't shown any leap in improvement and is 24 already. Goalies are so weird though and I am in no place to put a value on any of them really! Nice work!

Allen is the swing piece here, if he's good it's a win if he's bad it's not great. But I think Allen in a place like Calgary would thrive, he's best as a tandem. He also beings a sense of stability, cause he's seen a lot of playoff time. Takes away some stress of giving the reigns to a younger goalie part time. The real key is getting Neal and Perron back together, giving you 3 strong lines

Perron and Neal

I just threw Gillies in because you guys have so much goalie depth. And the blues could rotate him, Husso, and binnington as backups next year
