It doesn't have to be. It's on capfriendly The pick is top10 protected and no additionals added to push back the year.

Then why even put the trade in there?

To fix the difference.
I don't get why that's odd to you. I know u don't like the Boston trade I get that. It helps you push for a cup this year, might make things difficult in the future. But your argument here makes no sense

My argument is you shouldn’t expect everyone to know the intricacies of the buffalo trade. Put a blurb in description if you’re going to put that trade in there. You forgot to put that in there and then were a dink about it.

The Boston trade doesn’t help Boston in any way, as it puts them over the cap for this year and screws them for next year

Do you think this team has a worse chance to make the playoffs then the current roster?

I've seen Calgary fans offer a 1st for Holtby or Rask. I haven't noticed that kind of offer for Allen. I mean, maybe they'll take him, but I don't think there's a first pick in it.

And that's fine. Because the real return is in how you've spent your cap space on top UFAs. Looks like a good team. Should bounce back to the playoffs.

1st was because they get perron AND upgrade on Smith. Perron and Neal were great together last year and if he can get him going again they'll have 3 scoring lines. They could become a threat in the playoffs w that depth. Allen is just to bridge from Rittich to Parson as the 2A type.
