actually a pretty fair offer to marner, seeing as how he will get paid an absurd amount of money in a few years. Not sure the leafs want to bring him to UFA status that quickly.

Marner gets 8 years at 7.5-9m. You said there was no way nylander wasn’t getting 8.5....

As for this agm ozhiganov is not being traded. Some of our rfa’s have some illegal contracts... have to give anyone under 1m at least a 10% raise. Marner gets 8 years.

Cap hell is not what the leafs are looking at. No bad contracts. Ducks and Tampa are a much better example of cap hell. Even so I think both teams navigate through it easily.

I would looooooove it if you could show me saying nylander wouldn't get less than 8.5. marner is going to put up 100 points, maybe 110....he's getting 10.

Here’s the first one I found there are plenty of examples...

Best part was this guy nailed nylander’s contract.

It’s fine to raz leafs fans but don’t go back on it..,

well according to that i said nylander would get 9.9!

I think it's pretty clear that was a typographical error on my part, and that instead of saying Marner and Nylander offers need to be jacked up 3 million, I meant to say Marner and Matthews. That would have brought Matthews to 12, and Marner to 10. I've been pretty consistent on that being their ranger.

I certainly don't think i mentioned 8.5 as the minimum for nylander. I definitely thought that if Nylander were signed to max term it would be 7.5

If Tanev goes, we get a B RHD prospect in the deal or package him with a C prospect/roster player and retain salary for an A RHD prospect. But we’d take Brown and Lindgren for 2 million retained Tanev, Gadjovich, and a cheap roster player.

Why do fans continue to keep Borgman and Rosen on the team, I believe they both know their NHL dream is over and they both head back home to play for their Sweden teams once this season is over. I'd say Johnsson goes back home too with them, if he puts up a big fight in contract demands. If Johnsson or Kapanen cause headaches in their demands, Brown will stick around.

Borgman maybe but Rosen will be the third pairing LHD next year. If he was a RHD he'd be there this year. Once Gardiner leaves he falls behind Dermott. He's destroying the AHL right now, and Dubas' like his Marlies. We are weak on the left side so don't think Johansson is going anywhere. If any of them get traded or become unaffordable it's Kapenen. Which I hope isn't the case.

Leafs won't eat cap. And Ozhiganov is a top 6 RHD right now . You guys will need someone to replace on the right side. Only change I may see is an upgrade in pick.

I"m still surprised he sold them on the idea of overpaying for his potential because he's not as old as other 20g 60p guys, and might get better. It seems like most teams look at that argument and just sign kids to a bridge deal for how much they've earned so far. It'll be interesting to see how he performs relative to his cap hit, over the long haul. He might still exceed it, especially with all the centers he'll get chances to play with in Toronto, going forward. But expectations are going to be high, for what he's making.
