Pens trade? I get excited but then I realized it's an AHL trade. Wow, such a blockbuster!

Tobias Lindburg went from Ottawa in the Phaneuf deal, to Vegas in the Pickard deal, to Pittsburgh in the Brassard deal, and is now back in Ottawa. The third time he's been involved in a Senators trade.

Surprised, and a little disappointed to see Ben Sexton go. He's a hard working local guy, and he's been a huge part of the Belleville community. Would have liked to see him get a shot on the 4th line. I think he could've been a much better option than Pyatt.

Fourth if you include the fact that the pick that they drafted him with was acquired via trade, too.

Believe it or not, Lindburg used to be one of Ottawa's better prospects (Sens prospect depth pre 2015 draft was a scary place). Sexton is actually a decent AHL player/potential NHL call up, he's just been hit by the injury bug since arriving in Belleville. Sexy is just one of those guys I really wanted to succeed in Ottawa. He's just a really good dude.

Macoy Erkamps is an over age signed out of the WHL in 2016. He's terrible. I don't know much about Stefan Elliott, but he's better than Erkamps so that's advantage Ottawa.

Basically teams swapped two established good AHL workhorses (Elliott and Sexton) and two youngish guys who could maybe become better than those established guys.( they won't)

He's only 23. That number may not be done yet.

I can't speak for many, but Sexton was a former 7th rounder by the Bruins back in 2009 (IIRC). He may have played a few games in the NHL last year for OTT, but he's a career AHLer that could be an emergency call up.

Lindberg had 2 goals and 4 assists in 15 games playing on upper lines at WBS. I'm not sure what you were liking about him, he didn't really do anything at the AHL level and he surely didn't do anything even close to being pro level.

I like him alot better from his years with the Marlies when he had an outstanding rookie campaign.

He's been in the AHL for 4 years now. He's going no where.

Of course, I didn't say he was going anywhere. All I said was I like him for his first few years in Toronto when he had a breakout season, and I don't like the fact that they traded him.

This is not a NHL trade, even though Capfriendly says it is.

Fair deal.
