That Defense is VERY weak. They need a veteran LD. Forsling doesn't deserve $2.25M. He barely deserves $1.5M. I would rather have Gus than Forsling to be honest. People can talk about how much they like Forsling's development, but then those same people turn around and find glaring holes in his game. Yes, he's young. Yes, those mistakes are rookie mistakes. Yes, I want to keep him in general, but NO he's not better than Gus right now. Evidence is that Gus actually plays LD while Forsling moves to RD because they just need to get him NHL ice time. Gus gets more minutes/is a better passer/and scores goals. Forsling isn't physical which is probably the most glaring part of his game so far. He can change that with experience though. He's not a lightweight, just needs to learn to use it.

This off-season presents a ton of opportunity for Chicago. Strong chance to land Panarin, etc. Clearing some cap is definitely in their best interest, good work

I completely disagree. I think the young defence is great. Jokiharju is their best defenceman this year. Who's to say Boqvist, Krys, Gilbert, etc won't be just as good?

It's just the assumption that they're ALL going to be good because 1 of them is good...AND ALL in their Rookie years...is what I have a problem with. Getting (1) 1st round pick to be as good as Joki in his rookie year is F'ing amazing and VERY rare. Usually, Dmen take years to develp AND then when they do it's typically the rookies that have major supporting veteran Dmen around them. Go back and look at the drafts...even from Joki's year 2017. EIGHT different Dmen were drafted in front of him. Cale Maker, Miro Heiskanen, Callen Foote, Erik Brannstrom, Jusso Vallimaki, Timothy Liljegren, Urho Vaakanainen, Pierre-Olivier Joseph. Miro is the only other one playing let alone at this high level. It's just VERY unrealistic to think ALL of these guys are going to pan out...in their rookie years. Boqvist MIGHT be the exception because I would play him opposite Keith and allow Joki to graduate away from Keith. Boqvist will likely be the PP quarterback of the future anyway. But that's FAR from a guarantee too. Even 1st overall picks can flame out.

I wouldn't say the defence is weak it's just young. Jokiharju is having an amazing rookie season, kieth can still play, and if you would watch the games you would see Forsling has been our best defender most night (although that's not saying much)
