If you are making trades with a desperate team then every trade Edmonton makes includes a desperate team no? They should be pretty desperate right now.

So, just some thoughts
1. RNH has more points than JVR, Fabbri and Simmonds combined this year. Plus Simmonds will certainly leave after this year as he is a UFA.
2. If you're going to make a trade to get rid a ton of forwards, why not bring in a defense? The St.Louis trade, why not make it for Parayko?
3. I don't disagree with bringing in Winger help, but I just don't think these are the wingers the Oilers want. The only one worth value right now is Perron but you have to wonder about his age.

Pretty much this.
You’re getting rid of Nuge and a cheap Yamo, for an overpaid JVR and a soon to be overpaid Simmonds.

Then you’re trading High-potential (yes it’s not guaranteed, but a lot has been invested in these players) and a high pick for Perron(still effective but older and has no speed) and Fabbri (good young piece, but also just missed a full year due to injuries).

None of these really help the Oilers out.

As an outsider, the first two look like the other teams would accept them. RNH is younger, cheaper, and better than the two wings you're taking back (much cheaper next year, when Simmonds costs 8.5M). If EDM wants "real wings" you're getting a couple, but can you afford to keep them, or is this long term going to just give you JVR, in his thirties, instead of RNH for half his twenties, plus his 30s?

Taking on Perron's salary makes it harder to afford SImmonds next year, and Perron isn't going to score that many more goals with Drai than Chiasson taps in.

Khaira could be a good fit in Washington, if you want to get rid of him, based on his hits and PK experience. He looks fine when I watch him play. Why do EDM fans keep trading him?

No just teams that if they don't make the playoffs the GM will without a doubt be fired. Do you think Chiarelli would survive missing the playoffs?

i dont think chiarelli is going to survive winning the cup if they go on a magic run, hes done. makes the team the opposite of desperate, he clearly doesnt have full control rn or hed have made a big trade already

If he isn't in control then who is? If its the same old boys club that has been running the franchise for a while, then its still not a good situation. Drives me nuts, because I really do want to see the Oilers be awesome. Its way more fun when they are good.
