50K above the new minimum, and apparently he's going to be a part of their NHL d-core next season (even as the 7th/8th). The type of contract TOR will need next year.

have to think this is putting JG51 on notice.

with Rosen signed, and then maybe Borgman/prosect/KHL player; along with Reilly and Dermott the Left side is set..... its the other half that will need work.

Perfect signing for the Leafs, and one they will need at that. My best guess is that he slots into that 6th/7th spot next year.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see a few more signings like this over the next month or so. Trying to get cap arranged for next year. Maybe start to see some bigger extensions signed soon too so we can see who stays and who is a victim of the tight cap space.

Great signing for the leafs though. Rosen looked great in camp and ore season and has looked amazing for the marlies. Think he could be a great asset for moving the puck at 3 lhd next season.

Rosen has been the Marlies best D-Man since the 2nd round of the Calder Cup playoffs. He has been playing top pair minutes in the AHL and, were it not for the remarkable health on the Leafs blueline, he’d def be seeing time with the big club this year.
For someone who could easily be Top pair material in the SHL or KHL, this guaranteed 1.5M over 2 years likely keeps him in town and assuages any gripes he may have had wrt lack of NHL ice time and pay. It’s over a 10x increase in salary for him (vs his AHL salary this year) so sure he is celebrating. And it’s well deserved.
