It's not too bad. I'd probably put Pastrnak and Stamkos a tad higher. Also Seguin and Benn, but that might be my personal bias. I'd consider also putting Laine in this list...although he is somewhat varying in his game, he still has quite unique offensive abilities with his shot.

You have Matthews very high on this list...and Laine has probably even better offensive abilities than him. The comparison between the two won't ever stop, but in my opinion their level diffefence is not that big...

I'd have Marchand and Kopitar over Giroux and Scheifele, I'd probably drop Ovi and Matthews one point each, raise Barkov one as I still think it is Barkov>=Bergy>=Matthews, but that's also a bunch of personal preference. I think this list good, you're never going to be able to fit everyone inside the top 31. Forsberg, Laine etc probably have to miss out. I know Rantanen is putting up insane numbers, but I still think MacKinnon is driving that line, so Tarasenko > Rantanen for me at least. But you're doing well with these, I know I lean my personal directions as well. Good job!

I think Matthews is a clear-cut better than Barkov/Bergeron.
But I do agree Barkov is better than or equal to Bergeron.

Regards to the Scheifele and Kopitar I think it is fairly close.
Kopitar might be a bit better; but it is so close.

I would still have Giroux over Marchand, so I disagree with you there.

Marchand is 3 points ahead of Giroux in 14 fewer games since 16/17. Out of those points he's scored 22 more goals, if you like me value goals over assists. He's clearly the better defensive player as well.

So regarding Matthews I think a lot of the issue is him getting credit for a defensive ability he doesn't really have. He looks like a great two-way forward, but in his own zone his ability is far surpassed by Bergy and Barkov.
This data also includes Bergeron's ridiculous 6% shooting season outlier, but also consider that some of Bergeron's relative numbers get bumped down because of Marchands and Pastrnaks respective abilities

as a sabres fan, as much as i hate to admit it, Matthews is top 5 forward in the league imo.

Giroux>Marchand if only for the fact that giroux can play center as well and doesnt have the luxury of playing with bergeron and pasta on arguably the best line in hockey.
