Blues lose in this trade and it's not even close. Krug, while great offensively, is a defensive liability. Blues need help in the defensive zone. Plus, they a version of Krug in Dunn already, who is less seasoned. Why get more of what you have already?

How many Norris Trophy winners were tagged with the defensive liability label when there were younger? LOTS is the answer. And you just told me, Dmen hit their peek at a older age than forwards, so Schenn is starting to decline and Krug is just starting his prime by your very own logic.

Krug is a year older than Schenn, and you're saying that Schenn is declining while Krug is just entering his prime? That doesnt make sense.

He's going off a point I made earlier about how defensemen hit their prime later than forwards. However, I also made the point about how offensive defensemen, with no sound defensive game, tend to struggle later on because offensive ability goes down. Krug fits in the latter category much like Kevin Shattenkirk did. And we also have an offensive left handed defender in Dunn who is "more" defensively sound than Krug. So why trade for another?

I'd rather just keep Krug. He's the Bruins best defender at moving the puck and he's a huge pp asset. He's got 10PP Assists in 20 games. Not to mention how quickly he helps the team transition from defending to being on the attack once he gets the puck.
