If you threw in a few #1s .. Tampa should do the deal.
Mc David is best in NHL. PERIOD. Kuch is great but Stamkos is mow a 2nd liner and is injury prone and has a NEGATIVE Plus Minus this year for Tampa which given he plays power play and Tampa is best team in NHL is almost impossible .. again cant do trade you propose but throw in few more pieces and picks .. pull the trigger particularly if Tampa does not win Stanley Cup; Cooper or Stamkos is gone.

Price still is the best goalie in the world IMO. Everyone on this website looks at SUCH small sample sizes. It wasn’t too long ago people were saying Pekke Rinne is washed up and BOOM he won a vezina. Wouldn’t be shocked if price wins another vezina in his career. There isn’t a single goalie in the world I’d take to win me one game over price and I’m not even a Habs fan.

His contract though... that’s another story wink

it is a bit over. 9 would ahve been good imo, but considering he would have made more in the market, im fine with it. wouldnt philly or carolina pay top bucks for him? lots of teams looking for goalies like him. and not a lot of goalies like him. pens have been blessed. so has washington. MAF and then murray. anaheim had andersen now gibson. while philyl hasnt found a starter since hextall

they did not have a choice. they were against a rock and a hard place. price had just won hart/vezina/jennings/lindsey. the best season for a goaltender in recent memory. he was bound to get paid.

Stamkos is a 2nd liner? He is a point per game, tied with John Tavares (and others) for 31st in the league. He also only has 2 season in which he's missed more than 5 games. The narrative of "Stamkos is injury prone" isn't accurate. The man has had two seasons of fluke injuries. This isn't a Bobby Ryan situation with recurring injuries, they are isolated events and extreme situations (two plays where he fell awkwardly and a blood clot).

On a side note, I don't understand the hate Stamkos gets from our fan base. He returned from injury and adapted his game to better suit the team. He's worked on his passing (10th overall for assists last year), his defensive game (especially his faceoffs, which he is the best on the team for).

Also, +/- is a horrible stat, especially in this case as Stamkos is:
1- a powerplay specialist, where points don't affect +/-
2- constantly played in high risk situations, like faceoffs in our end, because he is our best faceoff guy.

Another noteworthy part of the +/- stat is that we have played the majority of the season without our Vezina caliber starting goalie. We've been using Louis who has posted a 2.95GAA and a .905 sv%. You'll notice that the team with a +40 goal only has 3 players who have a +/- above 10.

He's 2nd on Tampa for goals, 4th for assists, and 3rd for points. He's also our leader in shots with a maintainable shooting percentage. He is also our team's captain.

So BOLTSLOVER1, in regards to Stamkos being a 2nd liner, I implore you to name 31 centers better than him. I'll be happy to admit I'm wrong if you can.

McDavid #1. Ovi has the highest amount of sponsorship money at $4.5 million. Tavares probably made an extra million dollars in signing with the leafs from sponsorships rather than on Long Island. I love the rogers commercial of Tavares "coming home"

lmao how could someone think stamkos is a second liner. buddy is a legit superstar still. He may not currently be at the level that he used to be at, but he can certainly get there again.
If any Tampa fan wants to trade "second liner stamkos", the Pittsburgh Penguins will gladly take more forward depth wink

Tampa's first line is Point at center .. Kuch on wing .. and Tyler Johnson on wing. Stamkis centers 2nd line with Gourde and Palatt. Has been that way for awhile and was driver of Bolts win run with Hedman AND Vas out for 10 plus games.

Stamkos is not hated from Tampa fans.. far from it.
But true hockey folks can see how things are going now with him .. and your point on plus-minus being not relevant because Stamkos plays on pwerplay and not on penalty kill is actually WORSE to his team leading lowest plays minus. Come on Forrest.

Bolts win this year all is OK but if he gets injured/falters like he has in playoffs.. he should get the Belicheck treatment; trade older vets while you can get value and give Point, Curelli. Gourde etc. The playing time.

There is a significant amount of Lightning fans who call for Stamkos to be stripped of the C, traded for whatever we can get, etc. after every game he doesn't score. He literally had a hat trick 2 games ago, and has 8 goals + 12 points in his last 8 games (we're on an 8 game win streak). He isn't what he used to be, but then again who is? 60G 97P is insane. And the guy took way below market value to sign in Tampa. Setting the trend for others to do that same. I think a big part of it is that due to the teams recent success, there are a lot of new fans coming on.

stamkos is heating up. and look at this. tampa is already first in the league, without a hot stamkos. imagine how good they are now. tampa has 2 one C's. idk what type of goof would say stamkos is a 2nd line player.

"True hockey folks" and "using +/- as a legitimate stat" are mutually exclusive buddy. Also "folks" should be singular unless you're referring to multiple groups of people.

So by your definition, Malkin is just a "second liner"? Stamkos is 3rd among Tampa forwards in ATOI btw. I'm also inclined to doubt you're anything other than a troll account based on your inability to spell Palat, Stamkos, or Cirelli's names correctly. Beyond that I really don't understand what you're trying to say by "driver of Bolts win run" as during said run Stamkos is at 1.5 PPG.

I didn't say he didn't play on the PK, if you actually took the time to read my response I was saying he plays PK lol. Also it's ironic that you call me Forrest after posting a sentence that is borderline illegible. Additionally, I'm not sure how that would make it worse? Goals scored on the PP do NOT count towards +/-. So it makes sense that his +/- is lower if he is scoring on the PP, remember when Ovechkin had 51 goals, won the rocket and was -31? Because I do. +/- is a brutal measurement beyond a game by game basis, and even then it is not all-telling like you seem to think it is.

Stamkos falters in the playoffs? He had 16 pts in 17 games last year. The entire team stunk in the final two games so don't used that as an example either. And are you actually suggesting that if Tampa wins the cup they should trade our vets? Because Stamkos is our longest tenured player, so if you're suggesting that we should trade our captain (and play Cirelli in his place) if we win the cup I can see I'm wasting my time.

But I refer back to my previous comment, a second line center is a center ranked between 32nd overall and 62nd overall in a center ranking. So you could say Stamkos is a first liner playing on a 2nd line, but you can't say he's a second liner unless there are 31 centers better than him. So again, please tell me who those 31 centers are and I'll admit I'm wrong.

Stamkos is one of our most relied upon players. He takes faceoffs on our PK because Coach Coop doesn't trust anyone else out there. He's adapted his game from a purely offensive dynamo into a solid two-way center men. There is a reason people drew the Yzerman parallels. Stamkos has managed this transition while maintaining elite offensive production. So I'm really struggling to see why this guy seems so discontent with Stammer.

I'm quite excited to see what Tampa can do now they are almost entirely healthy. They wen't on a 7 game win streak without their starting goalie or top RHD. Both of whom are either back or going to be very soon. It's a great time to be a Tampa fan.

True but if Tampa just kept their team the same they're still first in the NHL. Unlike mcdavid in Edmonton
