BLOCKBUSTERS WITH STL AND EDM

Created by: OJ32
Team: 2018-19 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 16, 2018
Published: Dec. 16, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
This would be a massive trade for both teams and change their outlook for the future. STL will get a young scoring winger to fit in their roster right now, as well as a top tier defence and goalie prospect. TOR gets the dman they need to hopefully put them over the top this year.

TOR uses the 4th round pick they get to add some grit to their lineup. I thought i heard rumours that Kassian wanted out of EDM, so don't get choked at me if he didnt.

I am not sure how fair the value is for the TOR STL trade, but I personally don't think it's terribly far off. Maybe it is and im an idiot but i don't need to get chirped by some 10 year old pigeons in the comments so let's have some honest feedback and keep it cordial.

Sandin is better than Liljegren hands down. As a Leafs fan Sandin is untouchable. Lili can move but Zaitsev is going with him. And 1st along that for Parayko alone. That would be a fair deal (it was posted yesterday by non-leaf fan)

If I’m trading one of my top D, then I want a top d prospect in return. Again if I’m the Blues. Liljegren isn’t worth it to me.

As STL you would do the deal if it was Sandin instead of Liljegren? I would switch them but would not trade both.

This completely cap unfriendly to the Leafs, because of bonuses etc into next year.

I just don’t think you can get Parayko for futures. Pietrangelo sure, but Parayko is still young and has been incredible since Pietrangelo got hurt.

Yup.. I agree. Im suggesting Nylander and Liljegren for Parayko and Kyrou type of deal where depth on each position doesnt get sacrificed.

Yeah that would make sense last summer, but I’m convinced Pietrangelo will be gone at the deadline this year so we need Parayko for the long haul. Doug Armstrong is too smart to wait until next year to trade Pietrangelo. He saw how Shattenkirk’s return went from Hall to Sanford and a 1st in 6 months. I think he’ll maximize value at the deadline.

Yeah surely and I dont want Blues to trade Parayko. If Im GM he is untouchable. That would be smart to maximize Pietros value. I think some kind of trade with Leafs would get done where Liljegren and 1st would be part of it.

The Blues just might an issue with trading Pietrangelo and his NTC. He has the power to limit any teams he can be traded too. And for sure he'll want to go to a contender, and contenders have cap issues so money has to be coming back to the Blues or big retention...especially for next year.

The NTC will be a barrier, but there’s ways around it. He would almost definitely waive for Toronto and Armstrong really believes that Pietrangelo isn’t in the long term plans he could probably get him to waive. Plus, Armstrong is a total dick when it comes to NTC’s. Apparently he traded Berglund before he could update his NTC list and now Berglund hates it so much that he left lol.

What would be fair value to get Pietrangelo to TML for you?

Well taking Zaitsev back would have to happen to balance the cap and then 2 of Kapanen/Liljegren/1st rounder and then something else to sweeten the deal.

Very interesting. Would love to see Pietrangelo in the blue and white. Hopefully the trade deadline lives up to expectations.

So you want to trqde for a top defenseman in the NHL and you you A.Do not want to give up your best defensive prospect
B. Want to add what for you is a cap dump of Zaitsev. He has no value because if St. Louis is trading Parayko they are going into a rebuild not a lateral move .

To get something of value in this league you must give up at least something the other team wants. I am not saying Zaitsev is bad but that he is probably not what Blues

You are entitled to an opinion but that doesn’t make another opinion wrong. Have you personally talked with both GM’s concerning this?

If Parayko was going to Toronto, think Nylander, not Kap and quantity

The value is enough for Parayko. 2nd best D prospect, top-6 winger, elite prospect goaltender and 1st gets you Parayko Thats quantity and quality BUT Im not saying Parayko would be traded..

according to the latest 31 thoughts podcast, the ask from stl for parayko is nylander. leafs showed interested in pietragenlo as well, also there is that pieternagelo-tavares connection. they're childhood friends. stl asked for nylander for piteragenlo as well, but tor said no. now the ask is kapenen johnsson a 1st plus plus for piterangelo. tor might do it considering they could use him for 2 playoff runs, esp considering the defensive depth the other giants in the atlantic have.

Lol that’s 100% speculation from the podcast

Rumors and lies run around the world 5 times before the truth gets out of bed.

Kypreos shares his own personal idea that Pietrangelo could make sense to Toronto and the media, especially Canadian media, run with it like Armstrong is actively shopping Pietrangelo to Toronto.

The only facts that are being reported is Armstrong is willing to listen to offers on almost any roster player. I say almost because I don’t think there’s any possibility the Blues move O’Reily. Listening to offers is a lot different from shopping players to other teams.
