news flash for MTL fans.

No one wants to pay 10 mil a year for a guy with a 0.901 SV% the last 2 years. They sure as hell don't want to be on the hook for that over the next 7 years. And they aren't going to give anything up for it. If you want to cap dump that contract, you are gonna have to cough up a lot to a team to take it.

Simply put, to many pieces. No real elite pieces coming back and every trade is basically an NHL 19 trade.

Price and Weber are retiring Habs unless some unreal trade gets handed to them which won't happen.

How does this help Toronto? Leafs wouldn't be able to sign their RFAs cause they are wasting their money on a injury prone defenseman

I was thinking that with Montreal starting a rebuild and the Leafs are already a few years in that Weber could be moved. I was thinking a piece from the present, a blue chip RD prospect and a add a 1st round draft pick to get Weber with some salary retention. Maybe add Adam Brooks but remove Horton and Rasanen:

Zaitsev, Liljegren, Brooks and 2019 Leafs 1st Round Pick for Weber and $2,357,143 retained. MTL gets younger, has Zaitsev as a bit overpaid but very good RD and a 1st Round pick....non lottery protected...and the Leafs get a perfect complement to Rielly's smooth skating.

five stars for the Buffalo trade.
Sobotka, Vladimír a solid 3rd line center,
Moulson, Matt negative value, pure cap dump
Nelson, Casey decent 3rd pairing center
2019 1st round pick (BUF) after this trade most likely between 21 to 25
2020 2nd round pick (BUF) next year the team could be better between 55 to or higher
Tatar was traded for a 1st, 2nd and 3rd, so that is equal to Nelson, Casey + 2019 1st round pick (BUF) + 2020 2nd round pick (BUF)
Shaw + 3rd >> Sobotka + Oskar Laaksonen - Moulson
Just my opinion that Betterall would love this trade, let's make a deal!! cheers

at this time Habs can not afford to lose weber, always on the score sheet and going to help out younger guys coming in,Habs do need a rhd man but not trading weber

If Philly has no goalie, and Brian Elliott has had a better save percentage than Price over the last 2 years than I guess you could say MTL has no goalie too eh?
