Carolina hangs up. Slavin is a top 10 dman on a great deal, that haul won't cut it

I'm a habs fan too, but that haul is nowhere near good enough for Slavin, i can also see teams offering more for Senko tbh but quite close to fair value if u want my opinion. I'd love Kap on the habs but I just don't see Toronto trading him

3/4 trades aren't bad. Slavin trade is not close to value

Should I replace slavin by faulk? Would that be more realistic?

That would be an overpay for Faulk

The petry deal is pretty good and leafs could say yes but maybe a pick or low tier prospect to even it out.
The Habs are giving up their 2 best prospects and 2 good young players for tarasenko which is a lot but if the jabs are in a playoff position, then he could very helpful in the run on a line with domi and drouin.
Canes say no easily maybe that load minus the pick for Faulk and rask on retained cap though
Vegas trade is a cap dump which is very easily for Vegas to say yes to if not maybe the hams throw in a 7th.

The canes have 4.5 untouchable players on their team. Aho, slavin, svechnikov, teravienen, and Hamilton if he doesn’t request a trade. The only way that they are giving up slavin is for a massive overpayment. He is what klingberg is to the stars for the canes. Teravienen i could see traded but he has such good chemistry with aho it would make no sense to trade him. I wonder is tarasenko or svechnikov could play lw because then the have Russian chemistry but it wouldn’t be worth it for losing the chem it aho

I think it's a lot of changes for a team that's starting to work well together, and you're bringing in mostly offensive pieces. I like Zaitsev and Edmundson as gritty, defensive additions.

thats a joke

Slavin is good but he's not Domi good that's just a fact .

if Slavin was actually a top 10 d in the league like Subban was he wouldnt even land that haul.

if he was in the top 50 in scoring Maybe if MB thought his job depended on it .but Slavin is not top 50 meaning there's almost 2 D on every NHL team more productive whether he's a stay at home D or not that's just the reality .

this is like me saying Petry's top 20 in the league(despite being 9th in NHL scoring among ) , you'd have to be a biased fan to believe such craziness as when you look at what he does over all he'd be somwhere around the 30-40 top NHL D . Slavin's right around 50-55 ish area and anyone trying to sell him as more needs to show me what he's done that the 50+ other D ahead of him have each and every season consistently for the most part as many of the top 50 are mainstay's .

not really , new owner has come in making changes everywhere and i've heard you cap fans proven wrong about Hanofin , Lindholm , and Martinook in the last 6 months so outside Aho and Svechnikov all your players are auditioning for the new owner.(Molson did the same thing here after buying back the team from Gillette traded everyone and let Koivu and Kovalev walk for nothing )

if this was pre new owner then i would probably agree but he's looking to make a playoff cup contending team in the next year or two and he's obviously willing to make sacrifice's to create opportunity as you guys have looked good since he took over

as far as Klingberg he's a complete D and scored 50+ multiple times before age 25 so he's legit top 50 in the NHL i'd even say top 10 or damn near close .

Slavin is to CAR what Josh Gorges was to MTL . a Mentor to Subban , a Friend to Price , a NHL leader in shot blocks while playing reliable minutes and providing some offense here and there when given the chance to make a play without sacrificing defensive positioning .Slavin's great just like Gorges was for us but in the end josh got us a 2nd round pick i believe
