Kulikov is a cap dump. I don't think anyone would willingly take on his contract at $4 333 333 per year, seeing as how he simply hasn't been very good this year and has battled injuries the past 3 years.

For the big name RFAs (Connor and Laine) I think this is pretty accurate. Connor's camp will say "we'll take Nylander's deal" and it'll make sense if he continues on the pace he's on (i.e., 65 points). Laine's camp will say "we'll take Eichel's deal plus cap inflation" since the cap is projected to increase by 8 million between the time both contracts were signed (Eichel signed at 75 million cap - Laine will sign when cap is 82-83 million). I don't know how Chevy will negotiate them down from those comparables; Winnipeg doesn't have any tax benefits and it's a pretty miserable town compared to the other big Canadian cities (and yes I've been to Winnipeg several times, not just the airport). Trouba will be interesting...

Eichel isn't a comparable, he's a center. Honestly think 10.5 is an overpayment....negotiations should start at 9 and end at 9.5 in my opinion. Fininsh players love Winnipeg, it reminds them of home...large Finnish population...

Agreed in regards to Connor and Laine, that is a good comparable! Like most Canadian cities, yes the tax is going to be higher. But, being from Winnipeg I don't think it gets enough credit haha. It's no Toronto or Vancouver but I think players realize it's a great city to play in. Winnipeg absolutely loves the Jets, and our building is loud, great environment. That is why we have to draft and develop. We don't ususally attract many big name UFA's, but once players are here, I think most want to stay and enjoy playing here...except one who comes to mind and I believe he wears #8...hahaha.
