In the Marleau trade i understand the sharks might not have cap space to make this happen either if they re sign Karlsson for big money and im aware the 1st will most likely be a late pick. In the Edmonton trade you sign Gardiner first then move him, Edm gets a puck mover and the leafs get a right shot d that slots in next to Rielly, Id rather move Zaitsev but i dont think youll find a trade partner. Brown being included will reunite him with McDavid Leafs are too deep on rw for brown to be anymore than a 3rd liner.

You got the contracts right which is nice to see. Oilers may do it without the two 3rds but the other one likely qont happen even though the values are good

iginla12 the point is to shed salary to be able to afford matthews/marner. Gardiner is better than Larsson so why wouldnt Edm make this trade...they've made worse trades in the past. And i noted that the sharks probably wouldnt make this trade but it would give Marleau the chance to retire a Shark and they get a 1st rounder so there is a chance.

Oh leafs fan over valuing your own players. Larson is worth more than Gardiner. Hes younger, play a real well defensively and has a good contract. Gardiner will make more soon and not be as valuable 1v1. Ask any other person other than a leafs fan and they should say the same thing.

Actually no they don’t.... I’m already seeing a lot of Habs agm’s with gardiner. He is very good offensively and needs to be paired with a stay at hone guy. He is great in the neutral zone and at stoping zone entry as well. His zone coverage yeah it’s lacking. He makes some poor decisions but I think it all depends on what a team is looking for.

This Marleau trade....like 99% of Marleau trades ar just nonsense. Not appreciating Marleau's desire, or San Jose cap...and their structure of their team. I doubt if the Oilers do the trade due to the "term" involved. But is bad for the Leafs this year, Leafs need the puck carrying ability of Gardiner.

If Marleau plays next year, it’ll be in a Leafs jersey. I just can’t imagine a scenario where he waives his NMC. Maybe he’d go back to Sam Jose, but I can’t see a scenario where they take him back. The two can reunite on a 1yr deal when his current deal is up if they want.

I’d wager $100 to anyone that thinks otherwise.

There are no sign and trades either. Edmonton passes easily
