Well the value of Weber s debatable on that contract but he is a great player. This s offering is just horrible no where near value.

His contract isn’t even that bad anymore with the way the cap has been going up. He has a lot of grit in his own end and he can still contribute offensively. If a guy like zaitsev is worth 4.5 then I’m alright with it. I’m a habs fan though so..

It’s not the money, it’s the term. Much like Chicago with Keith and Seabrook. He will be worth his money this year but will start to decline. Zaitsev is much younger than Weber and his contract expires earlier.

So the Kings, on the precipice of a rebuild, trade away one of their young talented players for Jack Johnson and get themselves in even more cap trouble? Yea that makes sense.

They gifted the Penguins Tanner Pearson so they could get out of cap trouble by getting Pearson's next few years off the books. Don't expect them to take back your bad contracts.

Am I the only one who thinks penguins get screwed in the MTL Trade, sure they are some great players. But on god awful contracts. Providing murray gets back to close to form I would take him over Price at 11 any day.
