In 104 GP, patrick only has 41 points. He is almost halfway through his sophomore season and is still not looking like he should have been drafted 2nd overall. Now it is too early to tell but Is Nolan Patrick going to be classified as a bust in the future?

I my opinion a bust is a guy who never plays or only lasts a few seasons. I still think Patrick will have a long career, maybe he won’t be the impact player everyone thought but that’s why drafting is so tough

As a rule, I don't classify players as a bust until he's 22. Before that it's just way too early. Everyone develops at a different rate.

As an example from Ottawa ast year, Colin White had 4 points in 21 games, and didn't live up to expectations in the AHL either. If Ottawa had given up on him at 20, they'd have missed out on him becoming a legit 2C.

Obviously Patrick has a much higher ceiling, but he still needs time

I’d be worried for sure. He might be a good player, but the Flyers could definitely still sell a team that he’ll be a great player.

Not worried. His entire career has been under Hakstol's idiotic high low offensive system. I'd look for him to put together a nice second half. He is so young it's premature to discuss whether he's a bust. It's your impatience to suggest it. Prime age for forwards is mid 20s. You can judge him as a bust or not then.

This.......

Not worried at all, his first year he was coming off core muscle surgery and didn't start to shine until the 2nd half. It is only his 2nd year and I think everyone's expectations were very high with his 2nd half play last year and draft status. Give the kid time, he will be fine.

As above. He started his first season after a disrupted off-season due to multiple surgeries, got a concussion early in the season, then scored at at two C rate for the final third of the season. He'll be fine. No one was ever expecting him to be a mega star as it was. I've got no doubts he'll have a good career even if he's not a star player.
