Either lockout or DRW is playoff contender

Created by: pavelisgoat

Description
Reliant on the Wings signing Trouba and landing a top talent in the upcoming draft. Those two things really fill out this roster and make them instant competitors in 2 years' time.

Defensively there is maybe some room for improvement. But I like the games of Cholo and Hronek. With Trouba in there and potentially DK/Daley providing some stability, if the younger guys can develop even just ok then our d core will be a lot better by this season.
Goaltending should be good enough.
The forward group is stacked imo. Yeah they're all mostly prospects now, but most are supposed to develop into good NHLers
What's the earliest season this roster wins a cup?

Have you seen the east? This team doesn’t touch buffalo, toronto, Tampa bays core
-also you’re banking that ALL their prospects reach their potential which NEVER happens. Some of these guys will bust

buffalo has turned it around very quickly. the Atlantic looks to be a beast for a few years, wings have to get lucky in the draft and when cap allows sign value wise ufa.

Lol such nonsense. Toronto offense is great but D is terrible. Buffalo beyond Eichel and Dahlin still really isn't much. Tampa should continue to be good for awhile. Still plenty of room for a team with Larkin, Zadina, Hughes/Kakko, Mantha, Veleno, Athanasiou, Berggren, Rasmussen, Svechnikov, Trouba, Cholowski, Hronek, McIsaac to get in the mix

That is extremely bias haha

Buffalos “core” of eichal, middlestat, dahlin, Reinhart blows Detroit’s out of the water
Toronto’s “core” of marner Matthews Tavares Anderson rielly nylander Blows Detroit’s out of the water
And I don’t even have to speak on Tampa’s

Not saying a core of Hughes, Larkin, Mantha, cholowski, mantha isn’t good... it’s just a step behind the easts big three. The rest of the prospects you named, over half of them won’t even play in the NHL. Some are gonna bust, it happens. Sure If every prospect lives up to their potential it’ll be a great core; but that never happens

I agree that not all the prospects will hit, they are a young team that is trending up.

Not saying you are wrong, but the future is bright. It all depends who and how many will become NHL players.

Please remind the Maple Leaf fans the same thing when they are trading Liljegren, Rosen, Timashov and Dermont for the likes of Parayko, Montour, Pieterangelo, Mason and the such. They believe every player they have in their system is a budding star and when you want to say the trade is lopsided they tell you they may not even trade that player and want to move you to even a lower prospect.

Obviously Detroit is a young team trending up, they need to land either Hughes or Kakko in the draft this year. That will exponentially speed up their rebuild process

That is true though. I’ve seen some pretty bad mock trades. But also, I’ve seen some pretty decent ones as well. Lindgren, Sandin, And dermott are the only prospect blueliners that hold any significant value on Toronto. The other guys mentioned are just throw in pieces. If Toronto wants a bonafide RHD they have to pay up
