Detroit fan here but I have question. With Mitchell and Barratt is there any news on when they are going to sign? or are they going to finish college first?

No news on either, but both are still young enough that we won’t have to worry about loosing them for nothing as free agents.

Would Duncan waive his NMC for Vancouver? I also had a look at the prospects and they don't impress me as much as Quinn. Quinn is basically guaranteed to be the Canucks future 1 LD and it would be unwise to give that up for 2 maybes.

I agree but if they are being offered up in a trade it would be nice to know. Now I've seen Quinn Hughes play live several times and I'm still pissed Detroit took Zadina over him. I do think Quinn has a good chance of being one of the best American born defenseman if not the best ever. That is my opinion on Quinn Hughes.

I dont doubt Quinn being a good offensive dman. Just consider this though. Quinn and Barret are both sophomores in the Big Ten. Barret is the favorite for the Hobey Baker so far. #1 centerman that leads the nation in points and highest scoring team. He's Very good too. I'd actually argue this is too much for quinn. IF they got Jack...first...I'd be slightly more open to it because it'll be a lock for them both to sign. I also think Keith is a tremendous mentor for what it's worth. Helping Joki and Boqvist along. Cant have too many of the same Dmen. Yeah LD vs RD, but need some size too and Boqvist is a QB like quinn.

That is not even close to value for Hughes. Boquist and the 2019 first would need to be included. Duncan Keith has limited value for a rebuilding team and particularly not in Vancouver. There are plenty of other teams that would want him though.

You still think the Canucks are rebuilding?

Yeah the value is pretty good from Chicagos perspective but the Canucks say no. Hughes ceiling is way too high and he is exactly what they need going forward, a true number 1 dman.

Get your canucks biased out of here. You realize Hughes went 7th and Boqvist 8th. Boqvist and a 1st makes zero sense.

AND truth be told. Most people thought Boqvist was going to be drafted ahead of quinn. Again, not saying quinn wont be great. Just that other players are pretty good too.

Buddy u want boqvist AND a 1st. Ur funny. As boqvist as of right no has more points then him. And I know if u add up the games to equal the games boqvist played he’d have more but remember that Hughes playes college hockey and boqvist playes in the ohl. I’d say they r pretty equal skill level defensman. So I’d say it would have to be a trade straight up Hughes for boqvist

The point is that Vancouver doesn’t want to trade Hughes. If you wanted him, it would take a lot more than what’s offered. You would need to include those pieces to have a chance at him.
