Burakovsky trade VAN

Created by: theBeer_Leaguer
Team: 2018-19 Washington Capitals
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 26, 2018
Published: Dec. 26, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
The rumour circulating for a while now is that Vancouver are interested in Burakovsky, and even though Bob Mackenzie mentioned that the Caps are interested in a ready-now player, I think it'd be a lot smarter to restock the prospect system. We have plenty of depth already, we need forward prospects/draft picks more imo.

Benning isnt going to trade draft picks for a non performing winger. How about Godlobin straight up.

Sooooooo many burakovsky trades. The only rational thing I see happening is Burakovsky going UFA with no QO next season. I can’t see any team wanting to pay a 20 point player 3m. It is either that or he signs a cheaper extension this year in season. even if it is only a 1 year 1-1.25m contract.

I’m sorry but I just din’t See any real trade value at 3m. Maybe you can get lucky at TDL and find someone who wants to bring him in for pkayoffs for a 3rd.

Haha a third round pick for bura..... yikes. That’s terrible return and let him go to ufa this is even more dumb. You shouldn’t comment on capitals forums if you lack knowledge on the topic. Bura is a .5 ppg player and with top 6 minutes and pp time he scores 40-50points on a team with less winger depth. Using points at a players slumping point seems like a terrible idea. Capitals have no reason to trade him. I would gladly pay him 3 million next season and I’m sure 30 other teams would also take that risk on a player with major upside. I mean reaves has less talent and is making 3million Plus haha I’m sorry I’m try to let these comment go but this is awful. You seem like a person who laughed and said the capitals overpaid for Wilson and Carlson Or that ovi is on the wrong side of thirty 3 years ago.

A third for bura haha

Look at kap numbers once he moved up to matthews line. Was he worth a third last season ? He had 9 points in 38 games? Yeah I’ll give you a 3rd for him maybe at the deadline. Haha ugh leaf fans

Yes he was probably worth a second or third but now he his worth more. That’s how value works. You take a gamble when you bet on an unproven player.

The difference is how many leafs fans were trying to fire kappy into the sun??? None. Most of us had high hopes for him. Bura on the other hand.... every4th agm is firing him into the sun.

Yeah everyone on here would trade ovechkin if he didn’t win a cup. Or backstrom. There was a thing where they wanted to trade Carlson to keep shatt 2 years ago. Caps fans on here are almost as bad as penguins fans with kessel

By all means, if you think he’s going to bounce back keep him but His QO is going to be 3m.

Oh for sure. I mean his numbers will look terrible in Washington bc their top 6 is amazing.... a ton of talent. But next season they’ll be without dsp Connelly jaskin dowd. He’ll need to play top 9 minutes. And that’s assuming Wilson doesn’t get suspended. Capitals keeping him makes them a deeper team.... esp a cup run this season. Having a down year might help his price stay south of 3.5

No comparison. Kessel is one of best RW in the league while burakovsky has barely made a name for himself.

Washington wins 1 cup and their fan base becomes the cockiest douchebags on the ACGM. Go Pens.

Penguins fans draft either 1st or 2nd overall for 5 years straight and the fans pretend they almost didn’t force the team to go to Kansas City bc of how fair weather they actually are. Go caps

Yet you apparently never had to listen to "the Persident Trophy is more meaningful than the Cup" discussions...

Totally understand it being an overpayment like others are saying, I probably overvalued him, but there is absolutely no way he doesn’t get qualified and goes to free agency. I mean, come on, he’s 23 years old playing 3rd line minutes with no power play time and his point totals in the past have been great when comparing his ice time.

Also, if teams have a problem with his $3 million cap hit for *half of a season*, the caps would have no problem retaining for the half a year. And the 3rd round pick that you suggest the caps would be lucky to get isn’t reasonable, he’s a skilled guy who has yet to see his full potential, I totally concede that the trade above is more than he is worth, but a 3rd is ridiculously low. I think you’ve focused too much on the contract (which expires this season) and not enough on his young age and potential.

Yes but it’s not “half a season” his QO is 3m. So he will get that or more. So your argument of pay no attention to his contract is invalid, you know this is cap friendly right? And this is his 5th season, yes he is young but he’s put in almost 300 nhl games.

If caps want a ready now player why isn’t burakovsky just that? Really makes you think right....
