Stats don't tell the whole story, however. Hischier plays on a team that made the playoffs last year with very little turnover, while Pettersson plays on a team that was in the basement and lost it's 2nd and 3rd best players in the off-season without any top level reinforcements (besides the one player we're discussing).

higher sh% isnt something you would list as a pro, 25% is unsustainable. +/- is a garbage stat. More AOTI doesnt matter when Hischier faces better comp. Hischier was a .68 takeaway/game his rookie year and Pettersson is at a .51 takeaway/game right now. Hischier has a much higher xGF, ixGF, and cf%

The 'shooting percentage is unsustainable' is a meme. With the season half over, he maintains that stat and leads the entire league. He is 2nd in the entire league in GWG.

'Hischier faces better comp.' Are you kidding me? EP40 is a first line player. He is significantly more advanced in ability and confidence.

EP40 is one of the best two-way players in the league.

One of the best two way players in the league wouldnt have a 2.278 xGA/60. Hischier statistically plays against tougher comp (93 percentile compared to EP40's comp which is in the 50th percentile) and most importantly Hischier has a 2.829 xGF/60 (98th percentile) vs EP40's 2.095 xGF/60 (39th percentile). EP40 is shooting 26% with a 103.4 PDO, neither of those numbers are sustainable. Saying more advanced in confidence is a poor comparison tool, GWGs are a totally cherry picked stat used to make Pettersson looks better, he's tied in 3rd with 5 GWG.

U can't be serious, EP40 is nowhere near being one of the best 2 way guys.

While everyone was distracted by the EP40 fiasco, nobody seemed to notice Rasmussen at 6 or Makar at 10.

EP40 scoring a hattrick tonight with another GWG. 27.8 unsustainable scoring percentage. All those stats were cherry picked.
