You mean the guy that built a team that won 3 cups in 6 years and returned an original 6 franchise to not only relevance but one of the most valuable teams and best brands in hockey?

Dale Tallon brought in most of the players that won the first cups. He drafted Toews, Kane, Keith, Seabrook, Hjalmarsson, Byfuglien, Brouwer, Bolland, Bickell and Crawford. He traded for Sharp, Ladd, Versteeg. He signed Hossa, Campbell, Kopecky, Madden, and Niemi. While Stan made some moves that were able to help the subsequent cups, such as drafting Saad and Shaw, signing Oduya, and trading for Leddy, Handzus, and Vermette, his more recent moves have been more controversial and seem to have destroyed the Hawks future. All of the Hawks 1st round picks from 2011-2016 have been traded away, which included Teravainen, Hartman, Schmaltz, and Danault. He traded away Panarin, Hinostroza, Teravainen, Danault, Leddy, and Saad in losing deals. Overall, while he's made many mistakes, I think people don't give him enough credit for what he did but are fair in placing some blame on him for the current state of the Hawks.

Sure, he traded away a lot of valuable assets to try and extend the run they were on, using the same tactics that were successful in doing so previously. The thing about futures is that their later value is unknown, because it depends a lot on how they develop. That some of those assets have reached the high end of their potential isn't a knock on Bowman. And Chicago's prospect cupboard has a good amount of assets whose potential remains as of yet unrealized, but could very well replicate or replace what's been lost in the attempts to deal with the cap crunch.
