It’s a minor move, but the Ducks came out on top. Murphy has looked pretty good in the AHL so far. The Roadrunners do need a forward given that both Garland and Bunting got called up, so this may be a sign that the Yotes plan on leaving at least one of them up for a while

it's mostly a wash, in my opinion. the Ducks are huuuurting for organizational defensive depth right now, so they could use a competent defender, and, as mentioned before, the Roadrunners could probably use the forward depth, given the Coyotes' injuries at forward and subsequent call-ups.
