I asked why dump Brassard and you said for roster space listing the 9 D currently on the roster with "See the issue?"
I said that the would not move a F to carry 9 D. I also stated that 2 of the D that you listed in your "reason" you had actually traded away in this same AGM, meaning there is no need for those roster spots.
What am I having difficulties comprehending? Your replies that make no sense when taking this AGM into consideration?
You traded Sheahan, Aston-Reese, Riikola and Oleksiak off the main roster for Nyquist, Bozak and van Riemsdyk. 4 out, 3 in. You actually opened a roster spot on the main roster, and decreased D from 9 to 8. I ask why you are dumping Brassard and you replied for a roster spot (which is now technically down 2 spots) to compensate for 9 D, even though after your trades there are only 8 D and two of the ones that you listed as the reason to dump Brassard are gone. I guess that my reading comprehension level depends on a person's responses actually making sense.
Maybe is you explain it to me slowly you will see what you did wrong, er, I mean I will comprehend what you are saying. But please, include the entire AGM so that you don't get, I mean so that I don't get confused.
First off, I'm doing AGM. I'm not a pro by any stretch. Nobody here is. Brass is not a fit and is on his way out; that is very very clear. The overall idea is this...
The likelihood of moving Brassard for another 3C is simply not very likely. Not impossible, but it would take a team with another pending UFA 3C who doesn't fit to make that even swap which isn't likely. MAYBE you have a team who's simply looking to get rid of someone with term for a UFA, but is there a quality player in that situation available? There's a couple of possibilities, but the teams that would want him RIGHT NOW are most likely playoff teams. I bring this up due to the Carter situation in LA. I doubt LA would want to bring in Brassard right now.
With Schultz coming back the Pens have a surplus of defense, some of which are in their doghouse, i.e. Oleksiak.
What seems to be the likeliest scenario in my eyes is moving Brassard to a playoff bound team for a pick and you get the cap space off the books.
Next, you package up a dman with whatever else you can to bring in someone of quality to play 3C.
This is the overall premise. Other moves made were simply for cap/roster purposes.
