Habs perspective - At the beginning of the year, Rask was someone the Habs would most likely have a lot of interest in. At this point in the year, and with his lackluster performance, I don't see it happening anymore. He wouldn't be someone to keep since Poehling will likely be on the roster next season (We have no choice, stupid NCAA free agency rule, can't risk it). I think the Wild would be a good trade partner to deal Rask

Rask's been really good on a snake bit Carolina offence. Look at lindholm and Skinner and what they've done post Carolina. Rask can 100% do the same thing

Depending on the Price. Montreal doesn't really need Rask with Domi/Kotkaniemi/Danault. Unless he is going to play wing and is cheap, Montreal probably wouldn't want him.

If Montreal were smart they’d move Domi back to the wing, his natural position, and move Kotkaniemi up and Rask can slot into the role Danault was playing

Danault is our best defensive center we have. He plays against the best opponents lines and does a great job doing it. You can't really move him up or down because we match lines, we can only change his teammates which makes no sense because it's working fine right now.

Same with Domi, he is currently our highest point guy while playing center, why would we change that?

Because he's producing unsustainable numbers, Domi isn't gonna keep this up forever. He's not a C, his shooting percentage is 15% his career average is 10. He's gonna slow right down, and this isn't unheard of, see William Karlsson. But Domi isn't gonna keep this up forever, it might last this season but come next, season his production is gonna take a hit

He's proven he can put up points. He put up 52 points in his rookie season at 19. The guy has talent, it's not coming from lucky bounces and lucky shots. He is creating the plays and earning his points. Not like he is benefiting from his team, it's the other way around. There are examples of players who weren't anything and then instantly turned into a top 6 winger (Marchessault). There are examples of it happening both ways.

Marchessault was a top 6 winger in Florida and Tampa, when he clicked with Karlsson it wasn't a surprise that they were putting up mad point totals. Domi is getting lucky with his shooting and he's getting more lucky bounces then league averages, so in a sense yes right now his stats are inflated and they're going to come down
