Blues-Blue Jackets swap

Description
I dont like the idea of trading Tarasenko, but would this work for both teams? Might need extras on both sides to make it work salary wise, but is this a good starting off point?

As a Blues fan, I really like these trades, but the VGK trade seems lop-sided to me. Eakin is younger and more productive than Steen, but if you can buy Steen out of his NTC, I’d move him in a heart beat. Trade Steen straight up for Reaves.

The Steen trade was more or less just a throw in. Don't think it will happen as Armstrong loves him some Steen.

I don’t think he does lol. Unconfirmed, but Steen has used his NTC before and I’m pretty sure Armstrong knows Steen is a coach-killer.

Reason why I think he does, and possibly most convincing, is the fact he gave Steen the contract over Backes. Same length, reportedly Backes was willing to take about 5.5, yet Armstrong gave the contract to Steen instead.

My thoughts is that STL-CBJ deal is very nice and logical. While STL doesnt sacrifice RHD they would gain a LHD one and quality one and they would get also player that can contribute not in just scoring but also playing harder and on the edge and while CBJ degrades from Werenski to Dunn they would gain top quality sniper who might likely talk Panarin and Bob into extensions..

But I dont see actually Blues pulling the trigger. Steen is useful player with defensive qualities in him and he can score still. But I dont think he would be able to do that for the whole term of the contract thats why I see Steen just being part of the Blues organization. And also the return is not so great tbh.

Steen trade is less important to me. Just wanted to throw one in. I would agree it's not the best trade for either team. Thanks for the feedback on the CBJ trade. That's the way i saw it, and the fact Blues fans think it's a massive loss for them and Jackets fan thinks it's a massive loss for them, makes me it's about even

I love the trade idea and premise but think CBJ will need to add a little more for Tarasenko and Dunn. I think Vladi is worth both Werenski and Anderson or maybe a tiny bit less and with adding Dunn maybe CBJ add a prospect or 1st round pick.
