Future Moves

Created by: Arom5477
Team: 2019-20 Pittsburgh Penguins
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 7, 2019
Published: Jan. 7, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Notes:

Eberle Signing:
He has shown to be great when paired with star players. Sid finally gets a RW.

Maatta Trade:
WPG needs D-depth. PIT needs C depth.

Kessel Trade:
MIN saves around 1.5 million to resign Staal and trades players who have all been on the trade block at one point. MIN gets the player (along with some other moves) finally puts them into a deep run (maybe?).

Salary Cap:

With the cap going up around 4 million per season, Schultz being either traded at the deadline or UFA'ing out. That leaves plenty of cap space to resign all future FA's. And hopefully Jack Johnson bought out or traded at that point...

ya stop trading kessel

lol. @Arom5477 I'm not a PIT fan so I'll first qualify that. I think it'll be VERY hard to get value back in return for Kessel. His situation is set up so perfectly in PIT that I'm not sure another team could replicate it...or would even try to. What do I mean by that? Name 1 other team with (2) sure fire HOFer Centers? Crosby and Malkin draw the attention for their lines such that wingers are "free-er" (probably not a word) to make moves/shots. Also, Crosby's line typically gets the shutdown line. So...if you're a team acquiring Kessel...unless you have (2) HOF centers...don't expect quite as much scoring. Also, Kessel has never been a huge fan of backchecking. It's not that it NEVER happens. Just not as often as a forward of his caliber should do. See link below for his backchecking reputation...it's not subtle...it's in the title. So if you have a coach Q or Hitchcock...they don't care who you are...dog house. He's an offensive power. So if you're a team that's a grind it our win 2-1 type team. Just be aware that his style of play doesn't exactly fit yours. So...I think we're left with TOR as probably the best fit, but they don't want him back. MIN...might...be a good fit, but they're already an old team. I'm not sure they want to get older. The best place for Kessel is PIT. AND PIT fans should be ok with that. He's playing well there!

MIN Trade - Take Bellerive out add Lauzon and take out Blueger
FLO Trade - dont do
WPG Trade - add Roslevic - Maatta is a young top4 Dman - look at his analytics, hes crazy good - Just gets S**t on here bc he is slow
* Wayyy too much and too many yrs for Eberle .... He is a nice RWer but the last thing this team needs is another 30+ yr old winger
** look for deals to get younger

Non-constructive criticism posts such as "terrible", "not realistic", "lol" will be deleted and will receive an infraction

dont give a guy a 1 star just cuz he traded a guy you like. If you give him a one star, explain why you think the team comes out worse. This website is for fun, that includes making wild trades with players like Kessel, or nylander, or whoever.

Thank you. All of these relatively new users have ruined this site.

I don’t mind trading Kessel but I agree that Pittsburgh is probably the perfect place for him. The only other teams that could get somewhat similar from him would be Edmonton, maybe Florida, maybe Wpg, maybe Anaheim, and maybe Washington. Those are the only teams with 2 quality centers for him

I thought that it was insane AGM posts that ruin a good day of board browsing. One way to not get blasted for a bad AGM is to not post bad AGMs. How does one give constructive criticism when the original suggestions are excessively off base? Seriously, how? Someone is on a baking show and makes a muffin that is the size of a grapefruit, hard as a rock, and is made of pork... other than "stop baking" what kind of actual constructive criticism can you give? This is a serious question? Obviously there is the ignore the insane AGM option, but what kind of constructive criticism can be given to AGMs that are basically troll level in the first place?

Maatta and Lafferty for Lowry (a 4th liner) and a 3rd is very far off value, and I like Lowry. Winnipeg would have to add, considerably, to this deal.

Eberle appears to be in the same boat as James Neal, why give him $6.25Mx5? Plus, you are giving him $6.25M until he is 34.
