Lol because Eller is as good as Parayko at shutting down the Pens?

Or because Fehervary would be the next Forsberg?

@PenGoater99 @joshelkin I started with Madison Bowey, but @STLBlues17 said Bowey is less valuable than Liljegren, so i sweetened it. halo

If you were to get St Louis to even begin talks on Parayko, Lucas Johansen and a future 1st are two pieces that have to be in the deal. Not some scrubs like Lewington, Ferhervary

Fevervary is good, still doesn’t hold a candle to Parayko

Name three Swedish busts drafted by Washington?

Hint: they don't exist.

Fehervary is Slovakian, but I like his game quite a bit. I think he plays in Sweden though.

Second hint:. The centerpieces of the above rebuild are Hughes, Karlsson, and the 2nd pair of defensemen that Leafs fans haven't noticed gets their team 100 standings points a year.

Oh, like Swedish-scouted Czech Jakub Vrana? Thanks for clarifying. Yes, I think the Caps' Swedish scouts have been able to recognize talented hockey players from different countries, who merely play in Sweden. Look out for Swedish-playing Aussie Nathan Walker on next year's Caps, as well.

...than Parayko?

Not yet, but soon, sure.

I'm happy to hear some brainstorming happening, but most of my posts get comments from Penguins fans saying to pay more. It's standard sports rivalry nonsense. @PenGoater has no idea who Fehervary is, or how to compare him with Johansen.

I think Fehervary could be pretty good, possibly better than Johansen long term. Johansen is likely with Washington sooner, so if you're more interested in adding someone good right away, I mean, maybe? The Caps are probably hoping to increase their depth for the playoffs, so the kid who currently plays in North America might be more likely to be called up as an injury replacement than the one still in Europe. Perhaps if the Blues include an AHL LHD, who's more ready, with a lower ceiling?

No I am meaning Alexeyev more than any of the players you have offered. Let's face it Eller isn't worth anything. You haven't really given enough for Parayko, it's actually kind of worse.

Fehervary will probably work out to be a 5th defender. Johansen can be an average #4. Anyone with a minimal hockey IQ (sadly you fall even below this level) knows that what you offered for Parayko is woefully inadequate.

For future reference, if you want to tag me, do it properly

I think if you could move Bozak you'd love Eller, but yeah, the fit isn't right.

My interest in Parayko is to anchor a third decent shutdown pair and a third PK unit.

I'm skeptical about his cap hit fitting without messing up pp1, pk1, or pk2. Lars Eller seems to be mostly on PK1 this year, so already I have to make another trade to replace him. Luckily, some of the teams rebuilding have spare 3Cs, and some are cheaper, but they aren't upgrades on Eller.

Lars Eller was 5th in the 2018 SCF in points, behind Kuznetsov, Carlson, Backstrom, and Smith. His linemate, Burakovsky, tied for sixth. He's signed cheaper, for longer than Parayko. A one for one would be fair, but obviously if STL is rebuilding, they would prefer some picks/prospects/young players.

Not even close to enough for Parayko. That guy's elite d-man, and you're offering a 3C, two AHL D-men with one of them having B-tier potential and a 2nd...

If Caps want Parayko, they gotta pay almost twice as much to STL as they paid for Shattenkirk...A-tier prospect, 1st and 2nd should be the minimum...

I don't even understand why would you want to add top tier players for your lower lines, and then pay pretty much peanuts for them...this has been discussed before in other posts of yours as well.

Top tier? Parayko is third on the STL blue line in defensive zone starts percentage. Third in points, even with a lot of power play time. At the time of the Shattenkirk trade, Shattenkirk averaged twice as many points per sixty minutes as Parayko this year, and playing a similar role on a team that was doing well.

So if that was twice Shattenkirk, what's half look like?
