Brad Marchand is more overrated than Moore, Adrian Kempe is underrated greatly. Jake Gardiner is grossly overrated while Marner doesn't get enough credit. Debrincat is under Duncan kieth is over. Elias Pettersson is Canucks best player

Very bad take here. Marchand is top 3 RW. Gardiner is very good, you're probably just going off of last years playoffs. Nobody thinks Keith is that good anymore. Pettersson is definitely not Vancouver's best player

John Moore isn't overrated IMO. He's been really solid for the Bs this year.

You watching him doesn't show any proof of him not being overrated.

You automatically defeated your own point when you said "watch him in 2 years"

Overrated means that he isn’t as good as people make him put to be. How good do you think he is? Most people think highly of him because of how much potential he has. This is an honest question as a Canucks fan. I’ll give you a few comparisons and you tell me if you think that’s not as good as people think he is. Offensively, he’s outscoring Giroux, Backstrom, Malkin, Barkov, Kuznetsov, Seguin, and Barzal as centers and he’s barely below Stamkos and Tavares. There at ten other centers above him. So he’s a top 15 1C offensively. He’s number six in the league among centers in goal scoring in conversation with Matthews, McDavid, and MacKinnon. Defensively, when on ice he ranks top ten in GA tied with Sid who is known to be defensively sound. Offensively he is top ten in GF. Now granted he does get a very inflated oZs%, but he still gets the same if not fewer offensive zone starts per game as he gets limited ice time compared to the 20 a game that most 1Cs log. He is simply an offensive machine that doesn’t make many defensive errors. And check out his supporting cast. Ouch. Boeser is good, but he doesn’t have any D behind him and Goldy is hardly top line material. Pettersson’s PDO is shocking for the team he’s on. Overrated? Not as much as Tanev IMO.

Marchand plays LW not RW either way he isn't top 5 on either wing. He is good for sure but it does help to pad the stats when he plays with two great players, he does a lot of little things poorly so yes overrated. Gardiner I base on his whole career I thought he had a decent playoffs, he does put up points but there is more to hockey than just that. He is bad defensively, has a poor first pass too,he is more offensively talented Brett Hedican. I hear way more praise for him than he deserves so yes overrated.
Duncan Keith I don't, have followed the hawks much this year but he was always the most overrated player on that team. Brock Boeser no doubt is a fantastic player with a wicked shot but Elias Pettersson is best overall player on that team, he could be overrated but still is the best player

Edmonton seems all wrong. Is Nurse really overrated? Nobody really thinks he's elite or anything. He's just a decent top 4 dman, and that's what most fans think he is. And is Drai really underrated??? He's a huge name and he got a huge contract. Not to mention he's currently got a really bad giveaway/takeaway ratio right now.

I meant LW my mistake, still big wrong tho lmao. https://ibb.co/VWwnfGM These are insane numbers, and I'm not sure how anyone can think he isn't even a top 5. Gadiner is a very good second pairing LHD.

too tired to go in depth on the stats so take them as they are

SMH lmao, great bring up his line mates skatr tool numbers I'm sure they are off the charts too, hence his stats are padded cuz of two other great players. Again he does little things poorly and if he played on another line he wouldn't produce as much nor would he make those players better like PB and DP could hence overrated. J. Gudreau, Matt Tkachuk, Ovechkin, Taylor Hall, Panarin are a few better LW players than Marchand.
Gardiner is a good 2nd pairing offensive minded dman, he will never be 1st pairing but that still doesn't take away from the fact that he is poor defensively and still overrated.

Actually, Marchand is half the reason Pastrnak is elite now (the other half being Bergeron, of course), not the other way around, and he was a good player before Pasta even came into the league.

What "little things" does he do poorly?

Buffalo, Philly, San Jose, and Toronto are pretty solid in that order. You get only 4 stars for arguing Patrick Laine is overrated. What????

Laine is very one dimensional. Not a good skater and plays no defense. All he can do is shoot to be honest lol

It could be but also Marchands point totals started to take off more when he played more with Pastrnak. His defensive zone coverage is poor out of the three he leaves the earliest, loses his man more often, makes the most mistakes in defensive zone exits either blunders with a poor choice first pass exit or as mentioned exits too soon. Luckily PB is a wiz and Pastrnak is no slouch, they cover up for his Blunders and are more aware of what is happening. In the o zone he doesn't attack as well as before, doesn't retrieve as many pucks as Pastrnak it also seems that Pastrnak and Bergeron do more of the work they seem to us him less.

Uhhhhhh, yeah. Just as Hull was called one dimensional, not a good skater, plays no defense...all he can do is shoot. Same thing was said about Hull. For some silly reason, you infer similar comments made about a hall of famer mean I argue Laine is going to be a hall of famer. That, my friend, is called a logical fallacy. However, commenting that similar things have been said about good players in the past just as they are now, that my young apprentice, is logically sound.

I would argue that Marchand is actually very solid defensively, and much more so than Pastrnak. Marchand has many more years of experience and has played on the PK his entire career while Pasta has yet to record a shorthanded point. If playing the PK is not an indication of defensive prowess, I'm not sure what is, unless the Bruins' management has been overvaluing Marchand for the last 7 years.

What constitutes "attacking well," and what do you mean by "retrieving pucks?" And what do you mean by "before?"

I'm not trying to claim that Marchand is head and shoulders above Pastrnak, nor that Pasta is way better than Marchand. Rather, I'm questioning your analysis that Pasta is a driving force behind Marchand's success, as I think exactly the opposite is true.
