Description
Is it possible (both have NTC)?
OTT needs space for their forwards prospects (Batherson, Brown, Formenton)
CHI needs space for their RHD prospect Boqvist
In salary (not cap hit), Seabrook is 2M$ less than Ryan contract long. Cheap owner can like that. Mitchell is added for the extra year of Seabrook. Seabs can add leadership presence for Chabot, Lajoie, etc.
CHI only signs 1 FA and they choose a centerman over Panarin. They now boast a nice forward depth and have a lot of cap space to re-up Cat, Strome, Kahun or to make a big splash and land an established LHD. We have a competitive team with plenty of D's in the pipeline and this year top 10 pick (maybe top 5...)

Ryan is a locker room cancer and Ian Mitchell is a projected top 4 dman. He's not worth any of that. Even though seabs is not in his prime, he still brings leadership and experience to the young up and coming prospects.

Can't see Melnyk making that deal. Besides, I really dont mind Bobby Ryan as a sens fan, also i'd rather a bad contract for 3 years than 6 years. I would love Mitchell however.
