If you want any prospect from the Blues probably going to be Klim Kostin or Robert Thomas even though I strongly believe neither of those 2 are going to be leaving any time soon.

I'd strongly consider. Depends on how close Sam is to the NHL.

Schenn for Samsonov and a 1st. Kyrou is ripping up the AHL right now.

Ahl numbers don’t always translate well.... example sprong and Boyd but I respect what you’re saying. I think samsonov would cost more than kyrou but I’m also bias. I think it’s fills needs both teams need to fill

Samsonov khl numbers are elite.

He probably would need another year in the ahl to adjust to the nhl and American style but his khl numbers are elite.

I wouldn’t go for anything less than kyrou. Samsonov has elite potential.... his value is extremely high imo bc of his age and khl success

Kostin and Thomas are better than Kyrou because Kyrou was sent down to minors.

I think Kyrou will translate because he’s one of the best skaters in the world. Also, when he was sent down, the Rampage were the worst team in the AHL by a huge margin and they’ve basically won for two straight months. I totally see a fit if the Caps want Schenn.

Possibly his cap hit would cause a minor issue. Plus him and Wilson aren’t the best of friends. I would rather get a prospect for samsonov... kyrou imo isn’t your best prospect but his value is = to samsonov.

The blues fan in here is correct ...kyrou is fantastic and I think he’s the guy. Gut feeling that he’s going to be a star. I think he’s low enough on their depth chart for them to trade him for an elite goalie prospect.

If the Oilers can trade for Manning, the Caps can trade for Schenn. The Blues can retain salary on Schenn as well.

There's more to it. Kostin can play AHL underage as a European player. Thomas can't go to AHL and wouldnt get much out of going back to junior. Kyrou was the one that made the most sense to stay in AHL.

As for the trade I think we could get a much more proven goalie for Kyrou - not saying that Samsonov isn't a top goalie prospect, but I personally have no faith in goalie prospects.

I just don’t think they’d burn a prospect to get a goalie prospect. I’d try to get one in the inevitable blockbuster trade if Schenn, Tarasenko, or Pietrangelo.

Wait a minute there champ...You're sole reasoning that Kyrou wouldn't be the guy in that trade is because he was sent down to the minors? Kostin's never made it out. Thomas was also sent back to the minors. Have you ever watched Kyrou? The man is art on ice. He floats on the ice like a breeze on a cool fall day, not to mention scored 109 points and was the minors MVP last year. He got sent down and he's averaging close to a point/per in the AHL for a crummy San Antonio team. I'll agree with you that Kostin and Thomas are who Philly should target, but it sure as heck isn't because Kyrou got sent to the minors. Thomas, because he's got #1 playmaking ability oozing from him already. Kostin, because he a big, mean, strong player with passion who can score and is not afraid to pile drive someone on the ice. I think you missed the boat here.

Samsonov played in the khl and has broken most of the records and won. He’s more than a prospect in that regard. And besides getting Hart there isn’t anything better at that age range.

Maybe but he could be the blues franchise guy. It’s been awhile since they had that career goalie start and finish in St. Louis

I know who he is. I'm confused why yall would trade him then. I'd at least let him back up holtby for a spell to see what hes got in the NHL

And Kostin hasn't seen any NHL time so does that mean Kyrou and Blais are better than him? No. Thomas wasn't sent down because he could only go back to juniors or play NHL. I agree Thomas is better, but not sure about Kostin.

The capitals have 4 goalies that are very good right now. Holtby who is elite. Copley who is like a grub2.0 then the 2 ahl goalies. Samsonov would have the most value currently and it would be hard to let Holtby walk away w all he’s done for the caps. Plus he’s a top 5 goalie imo. You can’t let that go

Still cant believe the Blues just handed back Copley considering how much goaltending is screwing the franchise

Ha I no. The caps had him and gave him up on the Oshie trade. Then got him back for the shatt trade. But Shattenkirk was so terrible it’s nice Copley is working out. I still think we owe you guys for that Oshie trade tho. Idk how you guys traded him

a 5 year extension on top of his current deal or 3 more for five total? he is great right now but for an even larger cap hit over that many years can be a killer.
