Not if the canes can offer him much more. The canes would still have 3000000 to give him if they really want him back

well, for starters, you cant offer him 8 years. also, you traded him because you wouldn't pay him.

get used to 53 in blue and gold.

But they can trade rask and darling would give them the cap and so they can just offer him 7 years by 10-12 and buffalo can’t pay that

        A. Buffalo has about 35 mill in cap space, they can match any offer.
        B. Who can you trade you're over priced garbage to. That doesn't happen in the NHL, unless you're taking similar garbage cap back. You're only options are buyout or hope they have a good run and inflate their value

I’m not confident Skinner is going to re-sign In Buffalo. But I am confident that he’s not returning to Carolina. I’m guessing he wants to be closer to the GTA and at worst in the Northeast somewhere.

He also waived his no trade clause to waive Carolina and go to Buffalo after Buffalo was the worst team in the league

The penguins traded buffalo their garbage and you guys took it? I mean they dumped what 5+ million in cap to you guys? Hard to make this statement when your team is guilty of doing it.

Sheary was a lot better than Rask is and Darling cleared waivers, which means every team passed

Sheary isn’t better ... he just got to play w Crosby. We could dress you on Crosby’s line and you’d get 10-15 goals. Crosby made him look really good.

Darling could be traded w retained $$ or with a prospect or pick. Happens everyday

He has 8 with Mittelstadt and Rask absolute trash making way to much money. No one is spending an asset for someone they could have had for free. It's not even close to the same situation for either player. Maybe in your gm mode in NHL19

You said “who can you trade your overpriced garbage to”? I gave an example of a team trading overpriced garbage to save cap. Idk how you don’t comprehend this. The concept isn’t hard at all

Or the capitals trading orpiks 5.5 million to the Avs with grub. Colorado also sent back a 2nd round pick. They took on 5.5milion for a strong back up and sent a 2nd round pick.

Not a nhl 19 trade or whatever thing you said haha. But hey that never happens In today’s nhl right

5.25 million for 2 years (for a 4th) to the worst team in the NHL (sheary is an upgrade to what we had at LW last year) is different than 8 million plus for 3 years.

Look I get that we disagree on this but I want us to agree on one thing as a whole.
Peter Chiarelli sucks as a gm
