When realistically looking at what Habs are paying and what Mantha can give, Habs just decline. That is a ton of value going the other way for a winger, albeit a good one and a hometown kid.

Not that both players should be compared to each other because I think everyone understands Mantha is the more valuable player but just for perspective, Byron has as many goals over the last 3 years as Mantha does. Throw in the WJC MVP, Hudon and a 2nd rounder? That's simply too much for a winger.
